Room - spacious 33m2, bed is hard type, have a cooler fan, bathtub, fridge, adapters provided.
Coffee downstairs taste nice, and there is elevators to every floor.
Our hotel stay are the same time when the Hualien earthquake strikes, which taipei city feels 5- intensity. During the earthquake, there is nothing falls from our room ceiling and everything works as expected (elevators too) after the bad shaking. I think this hotel is pretty safe and glad we choose here.
I was looking for a hotel with a bathtub because I was traveling alone and I walked around a lot, so I chose this hotel because it was relatively cheap and close to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.
The bathtub was big enough and separate from the shower, so I was right.
The towels and other amenities were clean and the room was carefully cleaned, so I had a comfortable stay.
There was shampoo and body soap in the shower booth, and toothbrushes and cotton swabs on the sink.
There was no conditioner or pajamas, so it is recommended that you bring your own.
It was also very helpful that they kept my luggage after I checked out.
This was my first time in Taiwan, and there were not many reviews here so I was a little worried, but I was able to stay there with peace of mind.
I would like to stay here again when I go to Taipei.
I experienced two major problems associated with this stay. The staff have refused to comply with a simple request for verification of my stay for reimbursement purposes from my employer because I booked the room through Agoda. Be advised that if you use a booking service rather than reserving a room with them directly, they will flatly refuse to even confirm that you were a guest for the time period. This is inexcusable from a customer service perspective.
A second negative issue with my stay is the condition and environment of my room. The carpeting in my room appeared to be filthy with mutiple stained areas. In addition, there was a splatter of some kind that had not been cleaned up on one of the walls. Finally, the ventilation system in the room also circulated air with a very strong cigarette smoke odor throughout the room on multiple occasions during my stay.
Based on these multiple issues, i would not choose to stay at this hotel again.
The room is not huge but litle details make up for it's size. You can request unlimited complimentary bottles of water each day. Also, fruit bowls are replenished daily. The Bed is extremely comfortable and the shower has a good pressure. There is also a 24-inch flat screen TV with various channels such as HBO. Room service was overall excellent.
I found the mini gym more than enough for a quick workout. The machines were quite new and really clean. Again, there was endless supply of complimentary bottles of water.
The Staff was really attentive especially when they addressed you by name. For a boutique hotel, this was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was in a really good restaurant at the lobby with a nice buffet spread of Taiwanese and Western cuisine.
Did I mention that in room Broadband access is complimentary? And for those without your laptop, there is a business center that offers complimentary internet access. There is also a meeting room with coffee-making facilities and comfortable couches for guests to lounge/meet friends when it's not in use.
Overall, my husband and I had a wondeful time. We will be visiting Taipei very often as we have family there. There is no doubt that this is the hotel that we will go back to, again and again.
On the 2nd evening, I was looking at my desk where I was writing emails and realized that there were tens of very little ants going around my laptop cables and on the wall around the TV. I called the reception who immediately offered to change a room which I of course accepted. I did get a room of the same category whereas one would have expected to get a better room as a compensation... Anyways, at least this is without ants running around... Not sure if I should empty and brush the stuff inside my luggage etc to avoid of carrying nice presents back to my own house...
Apart from the ants, I cannot recommend either, there are much nicer hotels around the area that have newer decoration. Definitely not going to come here again!
the twin bed room are bigger with a large toilet. however there is a step between washroom and bedroom. it is not convenient for old people especially at night.
Excellent location for business and leisure travellers alike for its convenient location to MTR and shopping malls/boutiques. The MTR is just a few paces away so it makes this hotel an excellent starting point to other sites. SOGO is across the road and there are lots of smaller boutiques nearby.
It's also relatively safe and quiet, as it's one of the busy business districts; a local friend said the more affluent society lives in this district.
Cons: The entrance can be a little difficult to find because it's not off the main street; rather, the entrance is at the back of the main street. The airport buses also don't drop or pick up from this hotel. If you're travelling with huge luggages, it's best to take a cab. Otherwise, the MTR is conveniently situated a few walks from the hotel.
Summary: Would definitely stay here again.
We booked through Agoda, and the rate didn't include breakfast, so I can't say anything about the hotel buffet breakfast. However, there are many restaurants around the hotel, including a 24 hour McDonalds. There's also a Wellcome supermarket and two Sogo department stores nearby, one of which has a branch of the famous Din Tai Fung restaurant.
The Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT entrance was very near; I don't think it took more than five minutes to get there. The airport buses also stop at Zhongxiao Fuxing. It was very easy to go around Taipei from the hotel.
