I booked in with my mum to the GHotel Gurney in Penang. They went above and beyond to help. I had an eye problem. At 9am daily a porter came to my room. Put my mum in their borrowed wheelchair and took us down to breakfast. One of the ladies there asked us what we wanted for breakfast and brought our food to us . A great help.. Any one picking us up they came and took mysekf and helped put my mum in the cqr. I would definately reccommend this hotel to everyone. I cannot say anything else to improve what i have already saud. They are the best qnd extemely helpful.
I’ve stayed at this hotel and others in this complex many times over the last 35 years and had many happy holidays there . This year our booking was cancelled due to renovations work . We visited yesterday and were saddened to see the state the complex was in and were told that a big company had bought the hotels and surrounding land and property’s and that an enormous exclusive resort was going to be built in its place . The work will take place over two years . It was really sad to see the derelict ruins of what was once a beautiful hotel . I hope the new owner looks after the new place better than the old one did ! I’m writing this review as many people love The Pallini Beach Hotel and are wondering why it’s closed
We had a great time last year, in June 2021, especially our kid. We were very sorry when we were informed that it is closed, same like Athos the year before. If anyone can respond if it will be maybe renovated and open again next year, or whenever? We love to come to Kalithea and Halkidiki, and it is pretty sad to watch two big hotels on the most beautiful beach, closed...
The travel agency wrote It is Really Good hotel But for sure i would not give It 3* at all Very Bad service in restaurant, not enough space for seating, Really loud music from the clubs around- if you have a balcony on the the other side then see. Poor service. Only 1 swimming pool worked. But what was the worst jellyfish in the sea whole 8 days. I know it is not the hotel’s case but nobody even mentioned it in reviews. Never again for that money. 🙏🥺
The proposed dates are ok with me. I just need a official letters for both appointments so I can submit them to my employee We have booked with Opodo two rooms at Athos hotel, which is next to Pailini beach but it supposed to be better hotel. I have also checked the hotel website for availability and price and it was the same of very similar to the room price offered from Opodo. I had before arrival contacted the hotel customer service to request for a baby cot and they had confirmed that they will provide it free of charge, which was already requested in the original booking, and that the room booking was good and there was nothing to worry about. On our arrival we found out that hotel Athos was closed and it was closed for the season and we where booked to stay in Palini beach hotel. They offered a “superior” room as an upgrade, but as I found out after Palini does not have superior rooms. Its either rooms or suites. G hotels have provided with incorrect information from booking till the check in. In addition to that they are charging €10 for the beach umbrella and 2 seats. As for the dinner, we booked half board, the quality is simply poor and the service bad. The hotel is old , tired and the staff although willing , overworked and sometimes not as helpful as I expect. Definitely not a 4 star hotel Saying that I may consider a sea view bangalow, but only that.…
A wonderful hotel in a wonderful place that must be renovated immediately!! Super helpful personnel, ready to help you! The buffet was totally tasteful but the most important advantage of this hotel is the Carribbean sea and the amazing view!! A very nice destination for families!!
I have visited Pallini for the third time. We decided to give it another chance this year. The hotel is pretty expensive, for these reason, I will mention all the things that did not correspond to the high price point: -expensive umbrellas at the beach -really expensive coffe and snacks at the bar (not tasty at all) -no internet in bungallow (really annoying) -broken coffe cups at the restaurant. Every second cup was with broken edges. Could be dangerous. -green bananas at the breakfast (rock hard). Also, why? It was not just once, but daily -incredibly old furniture and tv in the bungallow with bad and low mattress. Had a bad sleep every night. The pillows were old and not confortable. -no mosquito net on the big window. We were sleeping with the closed window because every morning there were a lot of bugs, mosquitos, worms and so on..Thank god we took our mosquito repellent. -no hair dryer in the bungallow -ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! SOCKET in the room, really far away from bed There were also two situations that left us with an unpleasant aftertaste. 1) As I mentioned earlier, the snacks at the bar are expensive and not tasty. Knowing this from last years, we took 2 cups, 2 plates and 2 forks, so we could make some tea, noodles, cut some fruits and so on (because there was no lunch at the hotel). First 5 days, the cleaning ladies did not touch our plates, but in the 6th day, I observed that they were gone. We have asked at the reception, they told us that the cleaning ladies took them to the kitchen (thinking they were hotel's). First question - if they did this thinking that the plates and forks were Pallini's, why just in the 6th day but not in the first one? They searched for our stuff at the kitchen and took back the plates, but not the forks. It's not like a big deal, but they were ours, from a personal set of forks we have at home. Nobody told us "sorry for the missunderstanding". (On the table were also cups with ornaments, teaspons - all the crockery was obviously personal. But no, they took only some of them - thinking they were from the kitchen? They do not have such plates at the restaurant in the first place.) 2) On our last day the plane was early, so we would leave the hotel at 6 in the morning, missing our breakfast (that we paid for). For this reason, 2 days in advance, we have approached the ladies at the reception and asked if they could provide us a mealbox. She told us to ask once again the following day. So a day before our ckeck out, we spoke to a receptionist - she kindly told us that the hotel does not provide luchboxes, but she said that she'll organize one for us. She told us 2 or 3 times "I will do it for you. I will do. In the morning the boxes will be here, so you'll eat." We also asked if we could take something by ourselves from dinner (the day before) - something like a sandwich, a fruit etc. She told us: NO NEED. I Will prepare the box, don't worry. We woke up and came early to the reception and the receptionist told us: "There is no breakfast in the fridge". We were really dissapointed and hungry. We better took something from dinner, than have counted on your employees. Also, why no lunchbox? There are people that go to excursions, go home early..is that such a problem to put a boiled egg, a piece of bread, a small butter President and a banana in a bag? It's a pity to pay so much money and receive such service. I will not visit this hotel anymore and I feel really dissapointed with the situations I described. It's not a big deal, but it can certainly change one's mood. The beach and hotel's territory is great. Food at the restaurant (6/10) - boring breakfasts (5 types of dessert in the evening and no type of cake in the morning). You can visit this hotel if you don't expect too much from the accomodation and don't count money at all.…
The staff was friendly and did their best. The place besides the sea and the beach is amazing. The hotel was certainly beautiful in the late 1970's, but since then it seems like noone cares for it. Very old and almost destroyed furniture in the lobby and corridors. Quite better in the bedrooms. The matress and pillows ere not comfortable and very used. The mosquitos don't let you sleep. The breakfast is certainly not good, and very cheap-like. The dishes and cups almost broken. Full of insects everywhere. It certainly needs job and love to renovate such a hotel. I would come back for a stay if I knew that it was renovated because the place and the beach are really beautiful,
Greetings from Prague, in 2019 I was with my daughter and my mother in the hotel Pallini beach, we were satisfied with everything. That is why I wanted to visit the all-inclusive hotel Athos Palace with my whole family, which you still advertise, and our travel agencies also sell normally, although the hotel is not open this year at all. I would not mind, because Pallini beach has nice rooms, good food, but definitely does not provide services worthy of a 4 * hotel all inclusive !!! In addition, the hotel premises and especially the decorations very outdated (space in front of the dining room) and the mini club are also a shame to talk (disgust, next to the playground at Athos) The staff is nice, except for the older lady during the day at the bar, but cool, but absolutely catching up and service zero !! The manager or whoever is in the dining room will point out the drapes, but they are afraid to tell clients something about wet swimwear and pool supplies and prams around the food! In 2019 I heard German, English in the hotel, but now only incredibly screaming Serbs !! They also play football with children at the reception, why not? So your hotel just becomes a camp for Serbs. ! but pay for all inclusive services and feel inferior, I don't want that anymore. Nice days!…
We got second row bungalow, very old, with oldest furniture… we sleep only here so not take care so much after two or three entrance It is clean everyday, towels replaced on daily base. Restaurant is on first flor and its little tricky to get free table on time when you arrived, usually waiting few minutes until some get free. Personal is very professional in restaurant except one small guy ( i think it is some kind of manager)… he making pressure on others to work faster (but they are already giving 100%) so i think he just create tension. Menu is great and delicious. Nice sand beach with tavern on it. Set of beds and umbrella is 10 euros.
