We had a super two night stay in this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We went for a ground floor room on the swimming pool side so had immediate access to the good sized pool straight from our room. We ate in the restaurant both nights because the chef cooks something different every night. You need to reserve and there is little or no choice, but both nights were very different and very tasty. We would come back again.

This is a family run B&B that is a real gem tucked away in Languedoc, but ideally located in gorgeous wine country. It is creatively and idiosyncratically decorated with surrealist art, found objects, and repurposed antiques, a beautiful pond complete with goldfish and frogs, and two adorable bulldogs, while having all the amenities - buffet breakfast included, restaurant, wine cave, swimming pool. The couple that runs it couldn't be more friendly and attentive.

We've stayed 3 times, including last time with our one year old and can't wait to come back!

Recently we spent two weeks at this hotel with a group of artists from Canada on a sketching holiday. The family owned hotel, the Hostellerie St. Benoît in Aniane is centrally placed making it easy to visit all the interesting places in this area of Hérault. The rooms are comfortable and there is a good sized pool. The staff was more than helpful and bent over backwards to make us comfortable and welcome. The meals in the restaurant are beautifully served and were thoroughly enjoyed by our group. The owners, Jacques and Sandra Raoul have to be commended for the friendly and pleasant atmosphere created by them. We were extremely pleased to have stayed there and would highly recommend this hotel to travellers to this wonderful area. We will definitely be back.

Terrible hotel, dirty, badly managed, the staff couldn't care less about you. (Just see how they answer the reviews, it's never about customer service). Go towards Gignac, you will find much better options there!

The hotel is run by 2 couples. One of them has a toddler who crawls around the common areas wearing just a nappy, screaming at you. The staff uses the hotel as their home and you will run into their friends (not guests) in the restaurant, bar area and swimming pool + baby toys in the bar area or lobby. If you need something from the staff, they will clearly show that you are bothering them, Guests are tolerated as long as they don't say anything and pay at the end!
- The rooms are old and tiny (broken chairs on the balcony, dirty carpet)
- Cleaning is a joke, never changed the bed sheet in a week, gave us one tiny soap for a whole week
- No soap in the common toilets in the hallway
- Breakfast is a joke - 3 mini croissant and 2 pieces of bread in a basket on the buffet -
replaced 1 by 1
- The swimming pool used to be nice but they don't maintain it (full of dirt at the bottom)
- I heard other guests complaining about the dinner - the food was terrible apparently

... this hotel, which appears to date from the 1960s, surely fits the description of an 'old dear'; well worn and even threadbare in places but all the more charming because of it. Our out-of-season stay coincided with a heavy schedule of maintenance. No noisy labour on Easter weekend, but the pool and surrounding grounds were off limits. Some of the (adequately sized) rooms were in mid-renovation, and long overdue at that if they resembled the double room (w/ shower and w/c) we were given. The skeleton staff appeared to have their work cut out, but we never lacked for service that always was delivered with a smile; even at the end of what appeared a very LONG working day for the innkeepers. Our request for a late-afternoon checkout was cheerfully accepted. Specialist dietary requirements precluded us from taking main meals in the restaurant, tho the menu offerings certainly enticed. Nestled in the Languedoc, the food was definitely aimed at pairing with the produce of the local vintners, whose chateaux were within easy reach in any direction. A crowded dining room on Easter Sunday attests to the restaurant's popularity with the locals, a recommendation if ever there was one. Those seeking four-star accommodation or something a tad more wine-country 'rustique' would be advised to take a pass. But for travellers, holidaymakers and would-be gourmands that don't mind a different kind of 'ambience' and at a modest price, the Hostellerie Saint Benoit will do nicely. Be sure to give 'Balthazar' a scratch behind the ears.

Change of manager. The food is crap. Dry poorly presented awful lacking in quantity. Sack the chef if there is one. Stayed here twice once on the way out and then on the way back provoked. AVOID. One soap and shampoo go two people. A shower that is useless

Booked here last minute after another hotel cancelled unexpectedly. Although slightly tricky to find initially, very well located for local attractions. Being slightly outside of town it is very peaceful with a pretty and clean pool area. Breakfast is a well stocked continental one at a reasonable price. Dinner was also tasty and had a good choice of local dishes. Although perhaps not the glitziest hotel in the area it is very reasonably priced and the staff are delightful, friendly and very helpful. They speak a good level of English and were most helpful in assisting with local knowledge. Not the best wifi but the hotel is under new ownership and working to fix this. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an escape or wishing to explore the local countryside.

Stopped at this hotel for 3 nights over the last weekend for a 60th birthday.
The hotel is very quiet and peaceful away from the main road.
Lovely pool to chill out around, the hotel is very clean and well run, the rooms are basic but again very clean and serve the purpose.
I have to say that the staff are excellent and nothing was too much trouble to any them and they were all very pleasant.
Thank you for a lovely visit.

We stayed at this hotel as a group of 16 cyclists touring from the Channel to The Med. We were given a very warm welcome by staff who spoke excellent English. We were relieved to feel welcomed as our last 3 hotels had been a tad challenging with less than friendly staff. Hotel is not a looker from the outside. The rooms were located on a long corridor which was mightily different from others we had stayed in during our 2 weeks away. But this was not a bad thing, no quirky staircases to tackle carrying luggage. Our room at the rear of the hotel was large, shower room more than adequate. It was possible to sit outside if you wanted to avoid the sun and public areas. The rooms poolside had the afternoon sun and would have felt lighter and airier, but with potential noise from the pool. Huge car park and ease of access. Pool area not huge but very nicely done. Nice bar area, huge dining room and terrace. Food was excellent. The wine list as you would hope it to be in this area. House wine fabulous and was good value for money. But most of all it was the staff that made our stay so nice. We had a birthday in the group and they went above and beyond making birthday boy feel special. We understand that the hotel has recently been taken over by new people and we wish them every success, they deserve it.

Why good reviews about this hotel, really low level. Rooms are awful, never renovated I think, towels old and crap, breakfast is horrible, nothing fresh, even coffee and orange juice from machine which is chocking for the region. Owners are kind but knows nothing about the region, even nor where are the good places to eat or buy wine. Nothing more to say!!!

Why are you so nasty ? It's true the the rooms need a refreshing. We just manage the hotel since 1 year. We took over the hotel as it was. We need time ... It's old yes but it s clean. Everything is fresh in our breakfast! We choose good products for our customers. The orange juice, it's a fresh pressed juice and for your information it's not simply a machine! it's a fridge ! LOL. It was not fresh by miracle. The coffee is one of the best brand in France, but maybe you do not know that. You can check, the name it is CAFES FOLLIET. Is it a joke ? we know the region very well, cause we born here ! We always answer to our customers on what to do, what is to see, where go to eat etc ... Above all, because we love our work ... the tourism. Fortunately for us as you told it, we have good reviews because we maybe deserve it ! But looking to your others reviews you seems to have the criticize easy, cause it's look like hard to satisfy you. Very sad to see your coment, because we always do our best to make the stay pleasant. We may not be up to your expectations. There is a 5 star hotel a few miles from our hotel. Nothing more to say !!!!!!
