I've been to this resort in 2013. The room and other amenities of the resort were excellent but the beach was not. On high tide, you can see only a few meters of sand but during low tide, it's a beach of mud and sea grass that extends hundreds of meters. Fast forward four years. The room, the food, the...

Cozy and spacious room and bathroom. Nice infinity swimming pool. Wide beach area. However, when we were there it seems that it is always low tide. Friendly staff. The place at the moment has limited rooms. Only 8 but they have plans to build a bigger hotel by the side their property.

The rooms were fantastic, beautiful, and clean. Loved the shampoo and body wash - top notch products. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. We had 2 rooms that were connecting. They provide a safe, slippers, beach towels, welcome drinks, and complimentary bottled water daily. They charge for paddle boards (I recommend that this should be complimentary for guests...

I have planned for an out of town trip for me and my son's birthday. This year, it was Bohol. I cannot imagine myself eating salmon and talakitok (jack fish) everyday at an affordable price. The birthday cake from the hotel was an icing on top of the cake. I had fun and will surely come back.

On the way home riding a motorcycle one afternoon, my nephew and I got hungry. Tired of the same old fastfood restaurants in Tagbilaran, we ventured out in Baclayon to look for a great place to eat. And we chance upon Astoria. We even made a mistake of going in through the exit way (the management should highlight their entrance...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rich in tradition, culture, history and a myriad of natural wonders, the province of Bohol has become one of the Philippines’ top vacation destinations. The picturesque town of Baclayon (located just 10 minutes away from Bohol’s capital Tagbilaran City) is home to many attractions, like: Baclayon Church which was built by the Jesuits in 1727 and is made entirely of coral stones and plastered with a mixture of egg white and limestone. The Baclayon Museum located within the church grounds houses a relic of St. Ignatius de Loyola, antique gold thread embroidered ecclesiastical vestments, an image of the Blessed Virgin said to be presented by Queen Catherine of Aragon and many other related artifacts. Nearby is a monument of bronze statues of Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Datu (King) Sikatuna sculpted by no less than National Artist Napoleon Abueva. It depicts the famous “blood compact” and is at the actual site. The island of Bohol has world famous attractions like the breathtaking Chocolate Hills and the endangered tarsiers (one of the worlds smallest primates). There is also the amazing Hinagdanan Cave, the stunning Laoay & Loboc rivers, the white sand beaches with crystal clear waters, majestic forests and so much more. For the more adventurous tourist there is whale and dolphin watching, bungee jumping and zip lines. However, Bohol’s real gem is its people who are regarded as one of the most hospitable in this part of the country. Bol-anon’s (natives of Bohol) also have cuisines & delicacies that are truly unique and a “must try”. They value what Mother Nature has blessed them with and they are very protective of it. The air is fresh, and communing with nature comes naturally. These are some of the many reasons that inspired Astoria Hotels and Resorts to establish yet another fascinating resort – Astoria Bohol. ... more   less
