My husband and I found this castle quite by accident. The lovely Grace greeted us warmly, sent us to tour the castle, then invited us in to enjoy her company. We were treated like old friends, Grace helped us with family history, then gave of a personal tour of the grounds. It was a hidden gem and a highlight of... More

Organised a stag party in ballaghmore castle last weekend. We had the most amazing time. The owners Lady Grace and Kevin were very accommodating and we were made feel very welcome. The castle was incredible and was an amazing place to have a party. Will definitely be going back. It really was a great experience.

I was visiting Leap Castle nearby to discuss setting up a photoshoot. I saw Ballaghmore Castle from the road and decided to have a look. After all there was a sign on the place advertising visitors could look around the castle for €5. On my way up the 'drive' to the castle I came across what looked like a family... More

As surreal as it is to be able to rent a Castle for the weekend, it has to be said that the whole experience of spending a weekend here was magical for me and my 15 friends who stayed here. As the whole weekend was planned as a surprise for me (for my 30th), from early Friday evening all the... More

Stayed here with a group of 14 "girls" for a party weekend in September. We all had a ball! It is an old castle, granted, but if you go with an open mind, it is fantastic. LEAVE YOUR HEELS AT HOME! Not suitable for the stone stairs and flagstone floors. Beds are comfy and warm. The bedrooms sleep about 10... More

Thought we'd be spur-of-the moment and stop by and stay on our last night in Ireland. Owner met is at the door, encouraged us to tour the inside, proceeded to show us old photos and paintings of family lineage. Place smelled musty - flys dead on floor. Poorly kept and very unsanitary looking. We made our excuse that we needed... More

Unfortunately people's opinions are sometimes as a result of their own perceptions after a long day. I do remember this couple arriving after having been to a wedding which they had clearly enjoyed. They asked me if they could buy a drink but I advised them that as we are not licensed to sell alcohol that they should continue their... More
