Grand Hotel Panorama offers a family-friendly atmosphere that many guests find vibrant, complemented by dynamic entertainment that fosters strong connections. While opinions on room cleanliness and amenities are mixed, with some areas needing attention, the inclusive excursions and packages are popular among travelers. The hotel's strategic location with panoramic views is highly praised, as is the friendly and professional service. However, some travelers feel the value could be improved, noting expensive extras and underwhelming services.

Hotel a stone's throw from the Blockhaus peak in the Maielletta complex, Abruzzo mountains.

The hotel is clean, tidy, allows relaxing and active holidays at the same time, since the management organizes excursions to the surrounding areas every day for six days a week, allowing those who want to see hermitages, waterfalls, gorges, valleys, peaks and all the beauties that the Maiella National Park can offer.

The staff is very friendly, Gepi is the Director and personally takes care of the tourist-educational activity with great competence and preparation, Lollo passionately takes charge of the entertainment of the children and the organization of the less demanding walks. The dining room staff is very kind and affable, the person in charge of us, Chiara, was commendable. Entertainment present and effective, but never intrusive, those who wanted to be on their own were not excessively solicited. The solarium and swimming pool available in the hotel are also highly appreciated, as is the games room with ping-pong table and table football.

Traditional Italian cuisine, refined and plentiful. Every day for lunch and dinner two first courses are served (with refreshment), second course with side dish and fruit or dessert. Mountain water served free in jugs at the table. Breakfasts with everything you could want, from sweet to savory, yogurt, juices, various types of desserts, both fresh and canned fruit, etc. The hotel bar has a good selection of bitters and liqueurs. The coffee can be improved, the blend is very strong, more robust than Arabica.

The prices are decidedly affordable. We should invest a little something in the structure, especially in the renovation of rooms and bathrooms, the building is not very new. However, we can't say we had a bad time, on the contrary. In fact, the room was spacious, the water came out very well, there is a large color TV and wi-fi which, despite the height (1,600 m), worked very well. In short, great tranquility and a feeling of well-being, for an experience that my family and I considered to be decidedly positive and advisable.

I stayed with my family for a week, specifically the August holiday, it was our first holiday in the mountains and I can truly say that it was a wonderful holiday.
Every day there is Mr. Gepi who organizes excursions (99% are suitable for everyone) to visit beautiful places and above all he explains in detail the places and things he visits.
As far as entertainment is concerned, there is the great LOLLO who is also very good and friendly, every day he goes out of his way to entertain both adults and children
While for catering I don't remember all the names but I can assure you that you eat WELL and above all A LOT
I would like to point out something very important, my son is allergic to milk and egg proteins, usually not all restaurants take this "problem" seriously
Here in this hotel, however, everyone was very attentive and scrupulous, especially the waitress Loredana, naturally followed by all the kitchen staff.
So those who have food allergy problems can rest assured
I conclude by saying that if you want to spend a nice week or a few days of relaxation this is the right place

We stayed at this hotel a week between July and August. We had a great time! We immediately fell in love with the place: we are at 1500 meters overlooking the sea and a silence that is now a distant memory for those like us who live in large metropolises. Ideal for those who want to escape the chaos and recharge their batteries. The staff at the reception is friendly and welcoming. Always available to give suggestions and satisfy our every request. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the essentials. The thing that enraptured us? We left Rome with 40 degrees and arrived in a paradise where we searched for the air conditioner to turn it off... Listen, listen... there was no air conditioner. The room was cool of its own and on the bed we also found quilts for the night. For 7 days I slept like a newborn. Priceless! We loved the restaurant. Rich menu for both adults and children with a very elastic choice. All the waiting staff are extremely kind and always serve you with a smile. Great food and well cooked. Tasty dishes, but never heavy. Eating two first courses with review, second course with side dish and fruit or dessert and feeling light is not obvious. Finally, a special praise for the animator Lollo. Really special guy, with a lot of energy. Where you turn, you find it. Always with a smile, ready to involve everyone in the various activities at the hotel. He also organizes the excursions that the hotel offers and discusses them step by step making the walks a cultural, historical moment, but also a way to share and compare with the group. The children are enchanted by the stories he offers. He has an important knowledge of the area, but also a cultural baggage to scare. You say a film, a book, an artist, he knows him and suggests works to deepen. Declare verses of the divine play as nothing happened. All with a tranquility and humility that makes it unique and inimitable. True added value of the holiday, has conquered everyone and surely we will return to the structure to still enjoy all this show. Thank you all from Daniele, Daniela, Lorenzo and Aurora.

Maybe years ago you could call it GrandHotel, but in my opinion a repainted is not synonymous with modernization.
It is a three star "basic" to be honest, personal opinion confirmed by experiences in different facilities.
Bed bases that creak at the slightest movement, sink mattresses do not allow a restful sleep. Lack of safe and bad smells from the pipes of a thirty-year-old bathroom, with curtain in the shower, no window, with doubt about the operation of the vacuum cleaner (see photo), outdoor pool with minimal bathtub squeal not a little with the definition of Superior.
Large dining room, obviously with chairs, jugs (water at meals in bulk) and opaque glasses from time require a replacement.
No appetizers or buffet of fresh vegetables on the menus (see photo) in the week: on the other hand a couple of first courses per meal and main courses with very little flavor and without any reference to typical regional dishes.... never in a week.
A fruit at the end of lunch and a dessert at the end of dinner: not even in the company canteen.
I looked for them elsewhere and not far away..... but how sad..... for what they ask each. Probably those who manage it of local products and the effect on vacationers do not make it a strong point (as in other regions).
Nothing detracts from the goodwill of the waiters / receptionist and especially the handyman Lorenzo, he yes Superior.... called Lollo, who were left the little ones in complete safety, evening entertainment, organizer of excursions of various kinds every morning for all customers..... alone !! tireless.
Another strong point is the varied breakfast, sweet and savory, with coffee from the machine and undoubtedly is the location of the structure, which from up there allows a view that goes from the sea to the top of the mountain.

Leaving the room for distraction we did not pass by the bathroom where we forgot a beauty on the open sink with a clock, perfume and a fairly expensive hair straightener inside. Already in the afternoon being still in the area we returned and went up to the room they returned only an electric razor that was next to the beauty mysteriously disappeared into thin air. As well as our skis rented under Passo Lanciano (since those that rent them are not waxed and we had to return them because you could not even do lessons) left next to the car during lunch and mysteriously disappeared at our exit... then found "by chance" in their rental depot a little further down.... in front of witnesses of course.
Before removing them from there, you just had to enter the structure and ask if they belonged to someone as they do for badly parked cars!
And if it snows so much preparations to shovel the snow personally or stay there to inflate their wallet pockets. We spent three, two days in the facility because the turbine for a whole day was not seen and even when the evening passed it just flattened the snow leaving accumulations in front of the cars. To kill time we rented a sledge for 12 € when the decathlons rent it for €5.
When you find this structure available compared to other hotels a few kilometers away and perhaps in less convenient locations... ask yourself why!

First experience on the Maiella, beautiful mountain, shame about the snow that there wasn't and that the lifts were closed. It's a shame because the snow and the view are the only thing worth enjoying at altitude. Everything else to be deleted, or almost. Classic style hotel, it could use some updating, but so far nothing to say. The carpet is practically everywhere, which wouldn't be a big problem but the carpet needs to be cleaned... in our room there was a nice stain on the floor near the door and I don't know what it was and honestly I don't even want to know. Furthermore, the rooms were not soundproofed at all so with children screaming and running in the corridors there was chaos night and day. Very hot temperature, even too much, but all in all it's okay: the problem is that some rooms such as the mini club and the restaurant were freezing, while others were the tropics, so the temperature change was also inside the structure. The bar/relaxation room was not large enough so if you arrive a little later you risk being left standing. Let's say a positive note was the animation, which tries to raise the standards of the structure, but we are talking about David against Goliath. Four entertainers to do practically everything: from the mini club, to excursions, to "shows"... The result is dull and tired smiles that do not encourage you to get involved in the activities. And in these places if there is no snow and there are no engaging activities the holiday becomes a real flop. Sometimes good will is not enough, you need facts. And now the sore points... To begin with, the food was absolutely inedible, of poor quality and cooked even worse. A boy and a girl in the room are saved, the only kind and helpful ones. In fact, the biggest problem of all in the entire structure are the people who work there: all grumpy, ready to criticize and mistreat adults and children. Education must be the first piece of a business: the paying customer must always be respected. If it bothers you to go to work, stay home. If you are bothered by children running around, playing and maybe spilling cereal on the table, stay home. If you can't stand customers asking you the same questions over and over again, stay home. If a child comes to ask you for information, but interrupts your chat with your colleague, and you reply "it's not time to play, go eat", stay at home. If you write everywhere: "it is forbidden to take food outside the restaurant", stay at home. Outside here there are many people who want to work: if you are bored and have long faces, stay at home and make room for those who would truly take care of the customer.

I don't usually leave reviews, especially negative ones, but this was absolutely the worst experience of my life. Terrible and unprepared staff, except for a couple of guys who unfortunately were not assigned to us. Cleanliness and hygiene (even the personal hygiene of some employees) leave a lot to be desired. Inside the structure there is a smoking room which in my opinion is not up to standard or at least is poorly designed. In fact, in the adjacent corridors there is a constant smell of smoke. The structure is old and patched up, when it's good. The shower cabin has an unsafe door making it useless and dangerous, the internal handle of one of the hobby rooms was cleanly severed (on more than one occasion the children were unable to get out). As mentioned, the cleanliness of the room was practically nil, so I hope that you have not contracted fungi or infections. Our formula was full board…
Breakfast: not received;
lunch and dinner: most of the dishes are poor and poorly cooked
Table service: rude and unprofessional (the plates were almost thrown and if by chance you were engrossed in a conversation and didn't realize they were handing it to you they would shove it under your nose and look at you askance)
Let's say that some shortcomings are usually overlooked but when enough is enough. It's a shame because the structure (if renovated) especially for the location would deserve 5 stars.
Never again

We stayed three days in this mountain hotel with a view of the sea. I have to be honest, we were surprised. Everything beyond all expectations. Clean rooms, bar/fireplace room perfect for relaxing, decidedly generous portions in the restaurant, fantastic entertainment, in general staff always available coordinated by Stefano who, despite his young age, managed to satisfy every request making the stay unforgettable for our entire family !

We arrived at this hotel to spend 4 days with the premise of letting our 5 year old play in the snow!
Unfortunately there was very little snow in the first 2 days but in the following days those 30 cm of snow arrived which allowed us to finally have fun in the midst of a stupendous panorama and the many children playing with the various bobsleds in the area in front of the hotel.
Polite and kind hotel staff, good cuisine and its staff, warm and clean rooms but definitely in need of a general renovation, there is a small lift and a free games room (ping pong and table football), very ironic and friendly entertainment by Lorenzo, the manager is not exactly a very nice guy but if the price/quality of this structure is good, credit is certainly thanks above all to him.
An advice? Creating a more organized outdoor area for at least the little ones to play by also eliminating objects and vehicles that could easily cause injuries, otherwise the view is beautiful, outside the structure however we found a way to have enough fun with our bobsled.

The evaluation given is the result of an average between the experience lived and the aspects that can objectively be improved.
The weekend went very well despite the complete absence of snow: the welcome and the presence of very dynamic entertainment contributed to making the stay pleasant. The children had a lot of fun (leaving us parents with moments of relaxation) and the excursion proposal was also interesting. Friendly dining room staff available to meet customer requests.
If I can and if they are accepted, I would like to make some criticisms:
- Even though we understood the needs of preparing and cleaning the restaurant room between one shift and another, the service was too fast with an absolute lack of interval between one course and another (and given the objective abundance of the proposal, a can sometimes be a problem)
- The smoking room: truly anachronistic (it is not acceptable that it is located in a key point of the structure) and above all smelly with a bad smell of smoke that spreads throughout the first floor. The right of some to smoke cannot infringe the right of non-smokers to demand clean air.
- I (who am not sensitive to the cold) particularly suffered from the cold at night with the radiator almost constantly off despite the reassurances that the rooms were thermoregulated.
