My teen daughter and I went with a group of about 20 people, all foreign residents of Tanzania. All of us brought our own tents to camp, which kept the lodging prices down. Much of the group also brought their own food, which they were able to cook with the facilities, which included an outdoor stone kitchen. I chose the...

Hondo Hondo is a gem in Udzungwa National Park. The staff are excellent and the camp does not disappoint. The tents and local huts are very comfortable, clean and overall in pretty immaculate condition. Godfrey and Sharon are great, all staff are extremely helpful and go above and beyond in making your stay memorable. The food is very good and...

We camped, after learning about the prices of the rooms or the "luxurious tents". This was about the only reasonably priced thing here, in the middle of Tanzanian Nowhere. The place is pleasant and well maintained, but there is no reason at all to charge what they ask.

We stayed here on a camping basis and were thrilled that we did. The staff were simply wonderful. The place is brilliantly run and we enjoyed our time here enormously. The food was excellent and the staff that served us were superb. Advice on where to go and what to see was excellent. We also really liked the pleasant, tranquil...

We spent 3 nights here and had a great time. We were driven from Mikumi NP, it was really interesting to see the glimpses of the villages on the way (village people have a pretty hard life out here). We stayed in one of the bandas which was really well designed and finished, as were the toilets and showers. The...

During August we embarked on a birding adventure to Udzungwa and I am so happy we decided on Hondo Hondo!! We took a bus from Dar Es Salaam to Ifakara which goes right by Hondo Hondo. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly Geoffrey and were unexpectedly upgraded due to nature's Hazzards. The tents are really lovely,...

Just had another amazing stay at this wonderful oasis. We spent two stop over nights at Hondo Hondo on our way in and out of travelling further into Tanzania. Both nights were amazingly as always. Sharon, Godfrey and the team looked after us with amazing service. The bar and restaurant were amazing places to unwind. The steak and source were...

I visited here twice each just for one night but what a welcome! Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and a wonderful break from the dusty and bumpy roads. Very relaxing banda, clean and very comfortable. Local wildlife easily visible as on edge of National Park.

We felt very welcome during our stay. Sharon was very helpful and made sure everything was perfect. Hondo hondo was everything we needed after 8 days of safari. Excellent food, lovely staff and comfortable tents. Not to forget Bella, the cute donkey which our son adored very much. All in all, we had an amazing stay and definitely hope to...

We absolutely loved our three days at Hondo Hondo. It's situation on the edge of the national park is perfect - with the red colobus monkeys and other species coming down to camp. We camped and it was very well set up for camping, but we were also made very welcome at the bar area and had an excellent meal...
