Really liked this Hotel. A lot of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Also close to the subway and also walking distance to
A lot of the Kyoto attractions. Do not choose the breakfast in the hotel. Go out and buy your breakfast instead. The...More
I stayed simple Japanese style room with slightly frayed Tatami mats and shower room. More than my expectation, there's a large public bath（大浴場 Dai-Yokujyou）on 3rd floor（Open: 16:00～25:00 / 6:00～10:00）.
Breakfast was snobby and overpriced.
The previous reviewers are spot on that this is a really great hotel, in a perfect location a quiet street just a minutes walk from the main shopping strip. Nearby are minimarts, 7/11, Maccas, buses, trains, and fancy restaurants. The hotel is high quality with...More
Great location, just off the main road (around a 10 min walk from the river)
The rooms are cool, comfortable and traditional.
Comfy Japanese beds (on the floor!). Soft pyjamas. Slippers.
Bathroom is small but does the trick. The shower is AMAZING

Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes. Trends-in-the-making can be spotted in the tall
windows of several one-of-a-kind stores featuring local labels and modish boutiques. Arcades, outdoor concert spaces, mega department stores, and small, enchanting cafes have sprung up to accommodate the increasing traffic. Whether looking for souvenirs and kitsch on Shinkyogoku Street, or scoping out the massive food court and restaurant floor at Takashimaya Department store, there's something for every wallet or purse, and a buyer for every item.

Definitely be able to get to lobby area. I seem to recall there were wheelchairs in the lobby. I'm not sure about the doorway to a room (if it's wide enough ) but an email to hotel should confirm if you tell them... More
