Staff are friendly and welcoming and it’s very close to the train station and shops. The downside was that the showers and toilet weren’t clean, even after being there for 2 nights. The beds were also quite loud even with little movement, so if you rolled over it would be enough to wake someone. Probably needs some WD40 or something. The pillows were also the thinnest I’ve come across so far. You’ll have to fold it in half to get use out of it. The kitchen is good enough to cook any meal as it has a microwave and stove, but the room is also shared with the laundry, which was a little off putting. Overall I’d say look somewhere else if you can afford it, but if not it’ll do you for a night.

Stayed here while in Nagoya and didn’t regret it. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and also if you are the type to bring food back to the hostel and cook there is a complete kitchen available for use. Would visit again/10

Located in a wonderful section of Nagoya city this Hostel offers the traveler an excellent affordable place to recover after a day of sightseeing. The bunks are fitted with a warm comforter and pillow and the room has cool air conditioning to make sleep in the hot summer restful. The kitchen has everything one needs to make a nourishing meal and there are laundering and bathing facilities too.

I had a really amazing stay at Hostel Ann. All the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The hostel is really clean. The neighborhood is very calm. There is a kitchen with everything you might need and also a very nice common room. It has the Kanayama Subway/Train/Bus Station, that can take you anywhere until 00:30, close by only 5 minutes by walk. By the station you have a cheap "shopping mall", called Aeon, that you can get anything from food to clothes. Right in front of the hostel you also have a convience store/pharmacy/supermarket if you are too lazy. Also in case you like nightlife if you miss the last subway it only takes 35 minutes to go from Sakae (the major nightlife hub in Nagoya) to the hostel by foot. Would recommend it 110!

you can experience Japanese style house here! It's not a large and busy hostel so you feel at home! The reception is friendly but very polite! you may never feel lonely! so I didn't mind small inconvenience! I want to stay here again for cherry blossoms;))))))))))

If you want to experience staying in a traditional japanese house, stay at this hostel. The look, design and even the toilet is traditional. The place is warm and all except for that one staff that is very snooty. Maybe he is having a bad day. Anyway the rest of the staff are helpful and accommodating. You can rent towels for a 100 yen. Shower room is at the ground floor and they only have two so sometimes there is a queue. This hostel is near Kanayama station and has a lot of convenience stores nearby.

I really enjoyed this little hostel. It was different than all the other hostels I stayed at in Japan in that it was like staying in a small Japanese house (where the others were very large hotel style hostels). Nice quiet residential neighborhood. Easy walk from the train station and a lot of restaurants and a few bars by the train station. Cozy and cute place!

Spent 5 nights here in June. I found it overpriced for a private room with 3 beds. Cramped quarters, lacking in cleanliness, too many beds in this hostel for the 2 showers, sinks and toilets available. I spent just a little more in Kyoto for a beautiful room with much better shared amenities. Look some more before you book hostel Ann.

Booked over the internet, my first experience of hostels in Japan. The staff were very helpful. There was one night in the middle of my stay where they were already fully booked so Asako made a reservation for me in a business hotel just around the corner at the same time as confirming my stay and let me leave my rucksack there overnight until i checked back in the next day. Fully equipped kitchen, common room, wi-fi. Comfy beds. A mixture of Japanese and western staff which was great and had a fantastic time socialising with other guests. Would definitely recommend
