The Toyoko Inn chain shows very strong brand consistency indeed, so if you have ever stayed in another Toyoko, you know what to expect here. It is a relatively affordable, very practical hotel geared for Japanese business travelers, with very small rooms, although still comfortably spacious if you compare them to a capsule hotel capsule.. The Marunouchi area of Nagoya is very businesslike and rather smart. Finding the hotel from the underground station can be a bit of a challenge as the local information area map does not show it, or not show very clearly -the main thing is to remember using Exit 1, not any of the other eight exits. I found the (Japanese style) breakfast to be slightly better than the Toyoko average. The shower has very strong water pressure and you can even find a copy of the New York Times at breakfast, which is remarkable in a country where foreign press is the rarest of creatures. Aichi Prefectural Library is a two-minute walk away and there is a free shuttle going to Nagoya station and the airport, which could save you money.

The hotel is a long walk from the Marinouchi station. If you're taking heavy luggage be aware that there many steps, up and down as you walk to the exit 8. No elevator at exit 8. Rooms are comfortable with many power points. TV is only Jap with a pay per use set top box. Bathroom is noisy when you flag. It's one of those preformed plastic cubicles which I dislike. Service staff are always busy and in a rush. We had breakfast with the room and from a westerner point of view, it's lousy. Step out and turn left to the rice n pork chop place at the corner and you'll get a much better breakfast. There is a free shuttle to the train station we took it in the morning. This service ends at 10 in the morning. There is an afternoon service that starts at 5pm.

This is a very good budget accommodation in Nagoya. You will receive a lot for your money. The location is very good for the summer sumo wrestling tournament i Nagoya. You can walk to the arena in about 15 minutes. This is a typical Japanese budget room with built in plastic toilette and shower. Rooms are small but there are good WIFI and TV. The bed is typical Japanese hard bed but you will probably adjust to that over time. There is a simple Japanese breakfast included. The air-condition system worked very well. On the ground floor you will find Coin Laundry, in the lobby a copy of Japan Times is available in English version. Lawson has a shop around the corner there on can buy beer and soft drinks. Wending machines in the hotel has beer and soft drinks as well! The hotel room has a fridge so you can store your beer and soft drinks in the room.

The room that a friend and I stayed in was a double bed room (1- double bed), which was big enough for the both of us to fit comfortably. The amenities of the inn were perfect for a 3-4 day stay, and it was wonderful to have a complimentary breakfast which included rice, musubi, assorted pickles, bread, eggs, and a few other dishes. For the price of under $40 per person, per night, it is worth it to stay at a smaller hotel that gives you wonderful service. Toyoko Inn Nagoya Marunouchi also provides a free shuttle service from the hotel to the JR Station, which was very helpful when travelling with two medium/large sized suitcases. I would suggest to go to the station/line up early outside of te hotel as it is a popular hotel for travelling businessworkers who also commute to and from their events via train. Though the features of the room are a bit outdated (i.e. hairdryer in bedroom, television), each room does come with an air conditioning unit as well as a window tjat opens. Perfect for October-November when the air is cool outside and you want to enjoy the sounds of your outside surroundings. Will return to Toyoko Inn on my next visit!

This hotel located downtown, on 10 minutes from shopping area in nagoya. Check in was fast and efficient, less than 5 minutes to pass me room key. Room is okay, small (6m2), pillow is too hard, no more thing to complain.

Staff is very helpful. On the first day we arrived Nagoya, it rained and temperature dropped suddenly at the night. Hotel staff guided us where to find the food nearby. Toyoko Inn is famous as a business hotel. However, this hotel has quite a lot of package tour clients. They usually woke up early and become noisy at the corridor. Please consider this when selecting which Tokoyo Inn to stay in Nagoya. The hotel is within 1 minute walk from the subway exit. However, there has a lot of staircase to climb within the subway. If you have a heavy luggage of big luggage; and cannot make use of the free shuttle bus, please also need to consider this.

Good location. Clean and comfortable room. Free shuttle to Nagoya station. They even provide free Japanese style breakfast for all guests. These are all what you need for a budget hotel. Only one downside is the doors need repairing, because you can hear everyone shut with a boom noise on your floor.

I've stayed in 4 different locations of Toyoko Inn hotel (Nagoya and Osaka) in my last trip to these cities. The rooms were small but clean, comfortable and close to the train stations. The free breakfast was a delight :) I would definitely come back to Toyoko Inn in my next visit to Japan.

Toyoko Inns are reliably clean and comfortable, albeit "cozy" (meaning hardly room to swing a cat). This one stood out as especially clean and comfortable. The lobby area was somehow more inviting than most, the staff were friendly, the room seemed just a little roomier than usual. Best of all, the breakfast was good. (Often Toyoko Inn breakfasts are reminiscent of Japanese university cafeterias--everything gray and soggy.) The location was also very convenient, just a short walk from my last meeting of the day and another short walk to see the castle in the morning. In the end, I even decided to talk back to Nagoya Station, although I could have taken the subway one stop. Had I been traveling at commuting time (before 10 am or after 5 pm) the hotel operates a shuttle bus to Nagoya Station.
