We stayed at The Peninsula Tokyo over 8 days. This is our preferred luxury hotel in Tokyo and we’ve been here twice before. Rooms are as reviewed previously. Although there’s lots of modern technology touches, the entertainment system has not been upgraded to include Netflix enablement and other media expectations of today. That being said, we enjoyed our room, often coming back for a rest in the late afternoon before heading out to dinner. We would TV surf till we found something on cable TV. Make sure you hit the “bilingual” button on the remote to get English. Nespresso coffee machine with hot water function for tea is provided. As usual, other snacks, alcoholic and fizzy beverages are chargeable. Water bottles is replenished daily. Our bed was super comfy and we had many good nights during our stay. However, we were near the lifts, and adults and kids can be quite noisy while walking/running by. We loved that there were amenities supplied in the room - toothbrush, proper combs, shaving kit, sewing kit, amongst others. Shampoo, conditioner, body gel, and moisturizer is also supplied. Expect Japanese-style warm toilets and it’s auto functions. The walk in closet /make up area is cavernous and we really made use of the space here. Our clothes and shopping were spread out here and it seemed emptier was we packed up all the items. I continue to love the butler box, where staff can unobtrusively place newspapers, ice bucket or even your laundry without disturbing you. A light lights up when they have done so. Our room rate came with breakfast and there is a good number of choices. My wife had their Natural choice Japanese breakfast a number of times. Our servers were always polite and on-the-ball. Quick to supply our requests and topping up our coffee/tea without prompting. We would especially like to recognize Marco and Romany for their thoughtful, warm, excellent service. We had meals at the sushi restaurant and teppanyaki restaurant. Both were great experiences and are highly recommended. I patronized the gym and pool almost everyday, and it’s a blessing to be able to swim in winter. I appreciate the all-inclusive room rate. The hotel is well situated in Ginza. It’s a short hop to the Ginza cross-walk, and another 300m away from Mitsukoshi department store. Plenty of shopping and eating in the area. For runners/walkers, the 6km loop around the Imperial Palace is also within reach. Overall, Friendly staff, great product and attention to detail. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend The Peninsula Tokyo to anyone who loves a luxury stay.

Hotel's Favourite
The Peninsula probably needs little introduction to frequent visitors in Tokyo. This hotel near the Imperial Palace is the epitome of refined elegance. It is also within close walking distance of shops and restaurants in Ginza. This was a family trip and we stayed in this hotel on our last night in the city. Although mostly used by business travellers, we felt like we were at home as soon as we checked in. Our Corner suite was spacious, with every last detail considered. The food was absolutely delicious and service was first class. My husband is very keen on exercise. Although the gym was not the fanciest that we have seen, the Techno equipment was very well chosen and practical. The pool located on the 5/F was almost 25 metres long and can genuinely be used to swim laps for exercise. We were truly impressed and will definitely be back. We would especially like to thank Nicholas at the Front Desk who took care of our every need, including sending a jacket that our son left behind.

Pro: the room is spacious and the bathroom has two separated sinks. The “walk in closet” is nice, however not much space for clothes and limited coat hangers. Pro: beautiful swimming pool and decent gym. Con: there is no lobby to relax, meet other people. When people meet each other, they have to stand on the walking corridor between the two areas where breakfast is served (also afternoon tea). We didn’t feel comfortable about that. The lobby might be big, but is not gorgeous at all and misses a kind of coziness. Con: breakfast in the lobby is limited to a couple of fixed choices. Some of the portions are (ridiculously) small, like the fruit, yogurt or Birgner muesli (all put in a small glass and just half full). You can order extra’s, but expensive. So, best advice is to book a room without breakfast!

The rooms are big and comfortable with expansive dresser and bathroom, which is a luxury by Japan city standard. There are also interesting privacy features like in-room valet box which allows them to send things ie. newspaper/ice bucket to our room without pressing the doorbell. All we need to do is to retrieve it from the valet box in our room. The hotel is highly accessible and has a private exit from the basement that links us to Hibiya metro station. Love the convenience!

I was in Tokyo for a business trip and this was my first time staying at the Peninsula Tokyo and needless to say I was quite impressed. Upon arriving my luggage was immediately taken up to my room while I checked in at reception. The ladies at reception were expedient, yet gracious. Upon notifying them that my return flight was at 5pm, the receptionist immediately offered (without even asking) a later checkout time of 3pm which was much appreciated. Also - I was thoroughly surprised by their English speaking skills. Most individuals that I’ve encountered in Japan spoke very little English and so I would need to resort to pointing or attempting the very few Japanese words that I do know. Communication was definitely not a problem throughout the hotel and it was extremely easy to interact with the staff at the Peninsula even down to my housekeeper. Heading up to my hotel late one evening I even noticed the receptionists talking to one another in English and appeared to be honing their skills with each other which I thought really demonstrated the staff’s commitment to providing top of the line service to its guests. The front door attendants asked where we were going and would ensure that our taxi drivers knew exactly where we wanted to go each time we caught a taxi from the hotel. In terms of my hotel room it was clean, spacious and very comfortable for my week-long stay in Tokyo and I even arrived to find small welcoming touches – a bottle of sake, chocolates, and some small treats. I appreciated the expansive walk-in closet with the vanity table and plenty of wooden hangers for my clothes; it was the perfect place to get ready. The bathroom, like the rest of the room was also spacious with glass shower (with a rain shower head), large tub and a separate enclosed toilet (which of course had all the bells and whistles typical of Japanese toilets). Water pressure was great and the tub seemed like it filled up almost instantaneously - no waiting around needed. The room had pretty much all the amenities I could want – USB ports & wireless charging stations next to the bed, Nespresso machine – perfect for a pre-breakfast espresso, spacious desk with a pouch filled with charging cables in case you forgot any at home and the Financial Times delivered each morning. I had even bought an extra travel adapter for my work laptop but only came to find out that wasn’t even necessary as the room had three pronged outlets. I loved the location - the hotel was so close to great restaurants, the Ginza shopping district as well as both my client's office and my employer's Tokyo office branch. Across the street was Hibiya Park and the Imperia Palace and both the park and perimeter of the Imperial grounds provided the perfect route for early morning walks. I also enjoyed the gym which I thought was well equipped for its size – free weights, kettle bells, weight machines, and cardio machines were all available with mats, cold towels and water & fruit set out. While I did not try out the pool, I know that others in my group enjoyed swimming there and the jacuzzi seemed like it had great views. While at the Peninsula, we did try breakfast and lunch in the lobby restaurant which was fine for a quick meal. We also had dinner once at the tempura restaurant downstairs and at the teppenyaki restaurant and also enjoyed pre & post dinner drinks at Peter on the 24th floor on multiple evenings. While all were quite good, our team was absolutely blown away by the food and service at the teppanyaki restaurant. While in Tokyo, we went to multiple restaurants (outside the hotel) over the course of the week but we all agreed that the teppenyaki at Mon Cher Ton Ton Hibiya was one of our favorites of the trip. The chef was attentive, the food was delicious and the service was spectacular. There was very little at the Peninsula which did not exceed expectations with maybe the exception being Peter closing at 10pm which seems quite early to close for a bar. However, our bartender there (unfortunately did not catch his name) was so helpful in providing us with other options nearby which stayed open past midnight. Our team thoroughly enjoyed his recommendations and had a great night out - he really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Additionally, the front office manager (I believe his name was Fernando?) was attentive and thoughtful - our team had stepped out for dinner and had started walking away from the hotel towards our restaurant but he came running out after us with several umbrellas mentioning that it would rain that evening. Needless to say the Peninsula's umbrellas came handy that evening. The service was just above and beyond and really a testament to management at the Peninsula Tokyo. Can’t wait to come back to the Peninsula on my next trip to Tokyo!

As it is a milestone birthday for my boyfriend, I was anxious to arrange a truly memorable celebration. I had many options from Tokyo’s luxury hotel selection but I finally chose The Peninsula, which was, in hindsight, the ultimately perfect choice. There are other great hotels in Tokyo (which we both love as a couple) but the little sweet and cute details Pen Tokyo puts is just something other hotels won’t do. Also, the rooms have such a chic, relaxed feel as other Tokyo hotels generally tread on modern minimalist. Our stay was initially coordinated by Jacklyn Leung but I was received by Cherry Wu. Both woman totally impressive but hats off to Cherry for granting my super last minute requests — Peninsula Pikachu and morning high tea! My boyfriend was overjoyed, so am I. I couldn’t thank Pen Tokyo enough for what a truky wonderful celebration we had.

I'm not a very light sleeper but I just could not get any decent sleep here. Even though I was on the 20th floor I could still hear the constant sound of the trains. Trains stop maybe around 12.30am? That's the last time remember hearing the trains. Even business hotels like Toyoko Inn have better sound proofing and they are usually right next to the train stations. However, what's worse is the constant humming noise within the room. They need to get some acoustics expert in to look at this because the humming noise gets right into your head. I could not sleep at all because of this and moved around the room and noticed some areas the noise was not as audible but unfortunately the left side of the bed was very loud. My partner was asleep so I thought it's just me and I was going crazy and the next morning when I told her about it, I noticed that the noise was not audible on the right side of the bed. She also noticed the noise when she switched to the left side. I even turned off the air condition thinking it was that but didn't solve the issue. Sitting in the toilet was actually the most quiet area in the entire room. They also made some effort into providing a minimalist approach by hiding things in the room like the TV and coffee machine but the bed side charger is in a drawer so you need to open the drawer to charge your phone. Not sure why they can't just put in a power point or the wireless charger on the top. Also one of the wireless chargers wasn't working. The one nice touch is that the controls have sensors which light up so even in the dark you can control the air conditioning etc. Finally the check in is right at the back of the lobby. When you enter the hotel, both the left and right hand side is the cafe with a walkway in the middle. You are effectively walking through a cafe to get to check in. Imagine you arrive in their famous Rolls Royce pick up but then the first thing you see when you enter the hotel is a whole room full of people eating and you have to walk past just to get to the check in counter. The feeling of luxury and exclusivity disappear in an instant. Service was nice. Everyone was smiling and helpful as expected but overall the rooms need a huge improvement in sound proofing in order to provide a decent sleeping environment which is the main objective of a luxury hotel for me.

公式websiteから予約。 今回は特典がいっぱいついた「We Meet Again – The Eight Loves of The Peninsula Tokyo」というプランで申し込んだ。 朝食はin room diningでchinese breakfastを注文。中華粥の旨味というかコクがちょっと足りないのでは?と思った。油條をつけといてくれたらいいのに。 コロナ禍が落ち着いたら再訪してみたい。

The cleanness about this place is horrible despite its appearance at the breakfast club the coffee came out like some gross yellow-ish liquid and the toilet had graffiti in it and everything about it was horrible. I went to another hotel the next day instead of this crap-hole.
