I had to wait about 1-1,5 hours prior to my check in due to some booking information misunderstanding with the front staff at reception, before finally I could enter the room. I also was advised to check my name as listed guest at another nearby Mitsui Hotel of which I did not do, instead I seat and waited at the hotel lobby and made several calls to my booking company in Jakarta, Indonesia. I was in Tokyo to attend a medical seminar for several days. Aside from that, the hotel was located in good location, close to Ginza station if you wish to travel to several destinations or even the airport, and close to shops and estaurants as well. There were several tourist attractions nearby. The room was small but standard, the breakfast was already set in different menu of which you needed to make option. The room including bathroom was clean. Toiletries were available in the bathroom with shower, without bathtub. Overall, the hotel is recommended for people looking for place to stay in Ginza, Tokyo.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights for our trip to Tokyo, we have 2 adults and 2 children and we asked for a twin room with extra bed. The room size is good and 3 beds together gives great space for 4 of us, 2 of the bed are actually double beds.

The location of this hotel is fantastic with only 2 mins walk from 東銀座 metro station.

The hotel is new and service at front desk is good. There is also a public bath but we didn't try it.

The only negative experience is with the restaurant SHARI at 2F, where we had a dinner with. The food is ok but the service was not very good, with a lot of mistake and items in the bill which we didn't order or they took the wrong order. If we didn't check the bill we would have got over charged. Be careful if you decide to have meal at this restaurant.

But other than that not too good experience with the restaurant, overall this is a great hotel to choose from if you decide to stay in GINZA area.

Very new hotel in a great location in Ginza. Easy walk to the subway and plenty of places to eat and shop in close proximity. Staff all welcoming, friendly and helpful. Bag drop off means you can go out and explore before your room is ready. Hotel looks great inside, especially for a mid-range hotel. Everything is spotless and the rooms are well appointed. You are provided with lots of bathroom amenities so you dont have to being lots of toiletries with you. Having the small seating area made a big difference to us as it is nice to be able to have tea/coffee or breakfast in your room and spread out your maps and guide books to plan the next days travels. We would definitely make a return visit.

Nice and comfortable hotel in easy reach of many tourist attractions and Haneda airport as pointed out by the many other reviewers.

Staff was very accommodating for special requests. Asked for a quiet room. Check. Asked for an hour to check out later. Check. Doesn’t always happen this way.

I usually don’t comment on the design of a hotel. However, I loved the muted colors and natural materials in our standard room. Very soothing after an exciting city day. Also, the standard room with double bed layout was functional, pleasing, and roomy for Tokyo.

Please note that although the large public bath is an interesting touch for those of us who like a traditional bath but comes at the cost of a much smaller gym.

Would definitely stay there again for the price that we paid.

Great hotel in a really good location - close enough to walk to everything required but nice and quiet. The hotel has self checkin (but staff available to help), fantastic public baths, 2 washer/dryers, vending machines, and a great restaurant. There are a couple of convenience stores really close by (Lawson is just across the street).

We opted for the moderate twin room and it was perfect - a little larger than the standard which was handy for 2 people with 2 suitcases. The room had a small fridge (with a tiny freezer, handy for ice cream), a kettle (slowest kettle in the world to boil), mugs, glasses etc and a couple of bottles of lovely water in the fridge. There was also a hairdryer, in room safe and a TV that had Chromecast (as well as details on how busy the public baths were and whether the washing machines were available or if bust, how may minutes until they were finishing. The bathroom was great - a bath with a shower over it, toto style toilet and a bit of shelving near the basin which was great. There were also pyjamas and slippers in the room for use.

The air conditioning was really good which was handy as we were there in the heatwave and were thrilled to come back to a cold hotel room.

We managed to snag breakfast included in the room price which was pretty good - there was a good choice of japanese or western style food - a choice of 3 set menus as well as an egg station, salad bar, breads and a great selection of juices. The staff in the restaurant were lovely - really attentive - and the egg cook was amazing.

This hotel is a bit small for a family of 4; yet there is a public bath, refrigerator with waters, and walking distance to Ginza station and Tsukiji market. The check in and check out was smooth and not got into any problem. The amenities you have to get it from the front desk, but it’s all you need to take.

Some good points and some bad.

The good:

1) phenomenal location. Just within short walking distance of Mitsukoshi department store and the centre of Ginza. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops close by. Right next to exit 4 of the Higashi Ginza station. From here you can use the metro to get to Rappongi and Shinjuku very easily

2) room was a decent size for the location. A little tight for a large double bed but fine if you don't have lots of luggage

3) price was very good for the location

4) the bonus of an onsen was a nice addition

The bad:

a) we complained about the cleaners leaving an empty water bottle in the room and finding hair (not ours) under the covers. We weren't sure whether they even changed the sheets based on this evidence (although we think they were). Their response was a bit pathetic; sorry.......

b) next day, the cleaners didn't clean a plastic bag we left by the bin from a blanket we asked for. This level of service really is unacceptable......

c) the level of English of their staff was poor (although it's a bit unfair to cite them on this as it's not their first language!)

Would we go back? Maybe. We're staying somewhere near this hotel and it looks a bit nicer for the same price. In the end, the location may draw us back despite the cleaning service being poor.

Average no-frills hotel in Ginza. Small rooms, basic amenities. They only have two coin laundry machines, so better do your laundry really early in the morning (like, 4am) or in the daytime when everyone’s out. For longer stay, they have this eco-friendly option if you choose to not have your sheets n towels changed. I tried it the first morning and was shocked to find our beds the exact same mess as we’ve left them. They took out the trash, changed the towels, but left the bed exactly as we left them. I opted for my sheets not to be changed but wasn’t expecting them to not even make the beds. Location wise, it’s really good. Very close to subway station, big lawsons across the road, Tsukiji 10 mins walk, Ginza shopping 5 mins walk, Don Quijote 10 mins walk. But there are better hotels in the area.

Great stay for our family of four with kids ages 4 and 9. We stayed in a triple room--the 9 year old counted as an adult and the 4 year old was "free." (Next time, would book the double with extra bed; the square footage is smaller than the triple room, but the size of the two double beds is larger than the triple beds, plus an additional single bed.) The room is a tight squeeze, but we got what we wanted in Ginza location + onsen + restaurant + triple occupancy, so we were happy to sacrifice some space. Great service, super quiet rooms, small but clean and relaxing onsen (kids allowed with adult supervision), and great quality and value breakfast (4 yo free and 9 yo half price). Room housekeeping could be slightly improved--we found a previous guest's item under the bed and some dusty areas. Overall, a great home base for our Tokyo adventures.

Thank you for having visited at Mitsui Garden Ginza-gochome and for sharing other reviewers in detail. We are very delighted to learn that you were satisfied with your stay. Especially thank you for your lovely comments about location, breakfast and public bath. As you know, we have good access to the public transportations such as JR, Metro within 10minutes by walk. Any guests who visit our hotel either on sightseeing or on business, get an easy access to most of the places. We regret that you were not entirely satisfied with our room size – price ratio. We would appreciate your kind understanding of the room situation. Tokyo is a densely populated city, so we have designed most of our rooms a bit compact for function and convenience. Regarding room rates, they change on a daily basis, depending on the season and the availability of the rooms. We would appreciate it if you could understand that our room rates are almost in line with comparable hotels in the area. Please accept our apologies on the lack of attention to detail from our housekeeping department. However, rest assured we have addressed those issues with department heads concerned for rectification and further improvement in future. Again, thank you so much for having your time to offering valuable opinion and high score for our services. We look forward to welcoming you back to Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza-gochome. The location was fantastic, right next to 2 subway stations (higashi ginza and ginza). Staff were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, the room was dirty and it was right next to a construction site. Although the carpetting is very dark, it is very easy to spot when your shopping bags are stuck full of hairs (Static electricity) when you left it on the floor. Obviously the housekeeping is not vacuuming regularly. It can be quite noisy from 9am onwards as the construction site will start work.

Breakfast was decent, we get a set (3 to choose from) and a semi-buffet laid out. However, the semi buffet stopped in March due to the virus but that is understandable. Transportation to airport is very convenient as you can also hop onto the airport limousine at Courtyard Marriott (opposite the hotel). Book it with hotel staff.

Thank you for contacting us. You can walk from Tokyo Station to our hotel, but it takes about 30 minutes and is very difficult. We recommend using a taxi. It takes about 10 minutes. Tokyo Station has elevators. You won't be carrying your luggage up the stairs. Sincerely yours, Mitsui Gardenhotel Ginza-gochome
