Great location between Shimbashi and Ginza. Hotel publc areas but we had a room on a low floor with noise from the trains. Smell was a little stale also. Room small. However, you don't visit Tokyo to stay in your room.
Very attentive and personalized service. Great location , with many restaurants close by. A classic Japanese hotel, with spacious rooms. Amenities like gym and spa are close by, not in the hotel. At the top floor there a good teppanyaki restaurant.
For how much we paid the hotel was awful. The room was tiny and was definitely not to the scale that was advertised. There was only one place you could charge your electronics and it was across the room from your bed. There was rubbish left in our room when we got in there so it wasn't even cleaned properly. The entire room smelt like smoke, the curtains, the carpet and the bed all stunk of cigarettes. The exhaust fan didn't work in the shower so the room got foggy. The room was so hot and there was no way to cool it down. No windows and the smallest air vent. The room was a sauna and completely uncomfortable to sleep in. For a high star hotel this was not what we expected. We are both very disappointed and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
I booked this hotel on Hotels.com with Gold Status. No upgrade and my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds. The staff could care less. Breakfast is supposed to be included, upon arrival we find out its not. On top of that, no where does it say we have to pay to use the gym, and when we try to work out, its $30 per day for the two of us, $180 for our 6 night stay which is my YEARLY membership at home. Hotel feels 100 years old inside and I at 5'2" have to bend down to take a shower because my add on of a shower head only has one holder 48inches up from the ground. AC sucks, I'm roasting at night. Good location, everything else here sucks.
There are a few Daiichi hotels so be sure you have an exact address for the one you are going to. The hotel has direct access to the subway system so ask which gate to take when you arrive. This will save you some time. We were under the impression that the pool and fitness center were part of the hotel. They are however in another building and a fee is payable. The rooms were large and clean with good security. The Japanese breakfast was good although the venue was subterranean so missed the view. Location was excellent.
