Great location between Shimbashi and Ginza. Hotel publc areas but we had a room on a low floor with noise from the trains. Smell was a little stale also. Room small. However, you don't visit Tokyo to stay in your room.

Very attentive and personalized service. Great location , with many restaurants close by. A classic Japanese hotel, with spacious rooms. Amenities like gym and spa are close by, not in the hotel. At the top floor there a good teppanyaki restaurant.

Thank you very much for choosing Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo and for the positive feedback of your stay. We are very happy to hear from you. As you mentioned, Shimbashi, train and metro stations are really close, making Tokyo quite accessible. Regarding our fitness center, we cannot change the fee for facility users as the operating company is not by our hotel which has their own membership system. We have some discount coupon for our staying guests. We hope that you will continue to choose our hotel for future accommodations. Sincerely,

For how much we paid the hotel was awful. The room was tiny and was definitely not to the scale that was advertised. There was only one place you could charge your electronics and it was across the room from your bed. There was rubbish left in our room when we got in there so it wasn't even cleaned properly. The entire room smelt like smoke, the curtains, the carpet and the bed all stunk of cigarettes. The exhaust fan didn't work in the shower so the room got foggy. The room was so hot and there was no way to cool it down. No windows and the smallest air vent. The room was a sauna and completely uncomfortable to sleep in. For a high star hotel this was not what we expected. We are both very disappointed and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thank you very much for staying at Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo and taking the time to leave this review. At the same time, we would also like to apologize for the inconveniences that have occurred that prevented you from enjoying your stay. Since May 2019, our hotel prohibits smoking in all guest rooms. However, some guests will break our rule on rare occasions despite our warnings and their guarantees of compensation. Hotel staff may have been told of such problems during your stay, but we are deeply sorry that our efforts were not enough. Regarding the case that the outlet was too far from the bed, we would like to mention that there is an USB port and an outlet on the bedside table. It seems that our explanation of the room was lacking, and we apologize for this as well. Your review is much appreciated and will be used to improve our services. Thank you very much. We will make sure to give you a more pleasant stay the next you choose to stay here with us. Sincerely,

I booked this hotel on Hotels.com with Gold Status. No upgrade and my husband and I had to sleep in separate beds. The staff could care less. Breakfast is supposed to be included, upon arrival we find out its not. On top of that, no where does it say we have to pay to use the gym, and when we try to work out, its $30 per day for the two of us, $180 for our 6 night stay which is my YEARLY membership at home. Hotel feels 100 years old inside and I at 5'2" have to bend down to take a shower because my add on of a shower head only has one holder 48inches up from the ground. AC sucks, I'm roasting at night. Good location, everything else here sucks.

Thank you very much for choosing to stay at Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo. We are sorry to hear of the unpleasant experience due to the malfunction of your room’s shower and air conditioning system. According to the maintenance staff that fixed the shower booth, a loose nut was the cause of the problem and an extra nut was added to resolve this problem. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience and the lack of courtesy that our staff have shown. As for the air conditioning system in the room, we have found that the fan was operating much slower than the rest of the rooms causing your room to feel warm. We have resolved this problem as well and have made the fans to operate at optimum temperatures. Regarding our fitness center, we cannot change the fee for facility users as the operating company is not by our hotel which has their own membership system. We have some discount coupon for our staying guests. It is our duty to offer you great services and make your stay here an enjoyable one. We will continue to work harder on providing our guests with utmost services as well as we properly maintain our guest rooms. We would like to apologize again for the inconvenience of your stay and would also like to thank you for your precious feedback. We will make sure to give you a more pleasant stay the next you choose to stay here with us. Our staff and management look forward to your next visit. Sincerely,

There are a few Daiichi hotels so be sure you have an exact address for the one you are going to. The hotel has direct access to the subway system so ask which gate to take when you arrive. This will save you some time. We were under the impression that the pool and fitness center were part of the hotel. They are however in another building and a fee is payable. The rooms were large and clean with good security. The Japanese breakfast was good although the venue was subterranean so missed the view. Location was excellent.
