Okura hotels is a local chain which gives you an atmosphere of the old, classic and aristocratic Japan. The location of the hotel is excellent, rooms are specious (for Tokyo standards), clean and cozy. Nice touch the kimono that I used for the first time in my life. Very helpful and really gentle personnel ready to help you. The breakfast is nice and you can have also European style food. Be prepared to pay some more money but what you pay is what you get..
Certainly better than any Ritz or St Regis that I have ever stayed in. Huge room, walk in shower/bath that looks over the city if shades are open. Nearly floor to ceiling windows. Immaculate everywhere, partially perhaps because it opened not long before the pandemic. Service is formal style, which I prefer to outgoing.
To be honest, this used to be a good hotel. The facility is now updated, but the mindset of staffs are not. The location of this hotel makes itself useful as an "upscale, high-grade business hotel" for "upscale business people (executives and bureaucrats)", especially may be good for a foreigner because the interior design looks like somewhat of Japanese taste, but not much more than that. It's not particularly vacation-friendly, and the restaurant is nothing to write about, you can eat out much better place, with better service. Although I have had to book a room at the request of a foreign business partner who likes here and atmosphere, I would not stay here. The senior staff (and the restaurants in particular) need to be trained by actually staying in the other luxury hotel. The impression that the middle-aged staff is leaning on the brand while the young staff is moving briskly is very unpleasant to watch, looks really ridiculous. It's bad for the branding of Japan itself and should be improved. ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・…
This is such an amazing hotel. We stayed here for only one night and regret not staying longer. First and foremost, the style and decor is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. The room itself is something else. The view is great. We had views towards Tokyo Tower, both from the bed side of the room and from the bath. It’s honestly extremely luxurious. There is an indoor pool and a spa that provides anything you might need from face wash to moisturizer. We also went up to the bar lounge in the hotel that was also just beautiful. I recommend this hotel so much; it’s an experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Okura. We came across this hotel as it just recently re-opened at the end of 2019 after a renovation. We arrived prior to check in time. The staff outside helped with the luggages and the reception gathered our information and stored our luggages and bags. When we returned later, the key was ready and stored stuff was already placed in our room. We booked the Prestige room with king bed with a bath view. The room was huge at ~5xx sq ft! Compared with all the other hotels we stayed in Tokyo, especially in Shinjuku, 5xx Sq Ft is like more than double the size. There was a walk in closet and a separate toilet from the shower & bath. We also had a view of the Tokyo Tower from the bath and room. It was a great evening view. They provided great amenities of which I loved the Miller Harris collection and the Panasonic haircare dryer. There was also an iPad/ panel to turn on/off curtains and lights in different sections of the room. Housekeeping returned during dinner time (I assume) to prepare the room for sleeping. The service was top notch, even for Japanese standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a couple who was just looking to enjoy our Valentine's day and walk able distance to the Tokyo Tower. As other reviewers have pointed out and which we also observed, the hotel should be perfect for business or adult travellers.…
