My wife, son (<2 years old) and I stayed at Mimaru for 10 nights as our first stop in Japan. We moved to Tokyo for my job and decided to stay in a hotel temporarily for convenience until we found something more long term. The area is great - a very short walk to a great park that our son love, close to lots of restaurants and shopping, and business areas. A medium walk (10-15 minutes you’re at Roppongi crossing for some of Tokyo’s wildest nightlife (if you’re into that sort of thing). The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, and all spoke great English which helped us really feel comfortable until we learn more of the language. They would go out of their way to give recommendations, play with our son, and even booked us a taxi to our next destination as we had a lot of bags and needed to explain our situation. The room itself was perfect - very clean and spacious by Japanese standards. We didn’t feel confined even though we had a toddler roaming around. Would definitely stay at Mimaru again!…
The apartment hotel is perfectly located just a few minutes away from Akasaka station on Chiyoda line offering great links across Tokyo. There are a lot of options for eating out and getting groceries (7Eleven just across the road, drug store around the corner that does duty free). We stayed in a western style room, it is very spacious for 2 people, offering plenty of space for storage. The room features a big table with 2 large sofas which offers plenty of room for having a meal or laying things out. For 2 people it is hard to find a room this large at this price point. For 3-4 adults, however, we think it would feel rather cramped. The kitchen also has everything you would need. The room was in very good condition. The bathroom is also very nice and big, and they have a great selection of toiletries. The room cleaning was also great, we appreciated frequent towel changes. Small issues we encountered were: no bed side tables, so storage around the bed for essentials isn't very convenient; the Muji kettle is terrible, it is small and spills water when boiling; there is only 1 elevator serving 11 floors which was a little slow. The hotel was not busy when we stayed but if it's fully occupied, this could get pretty annoying. The staff was always polite and helpful, they were happy to receive our mail while we were in Japan and also store our luggage for 1 week while we were away from Tokyo. The hotel also has a nice roof terrace with a fun view of the Tokyo skyline. Overall, for the price point we were extremely happy with Mimaru Akasaka.…
We stayed at the Mimaru Tokyo Akasaka for 8 nights while visiting family. It was conveniently located to our relatives, but also close to Midtown and all sorts of great places to eat and shop. Right across the street is a 7-11 for beverages and snacks. It was quiet and clean and there was a coin-operated laundromat on the main floor. The desk workers were all polite and helpful and most spoke very good English. There were sanitizer dispensers everywhere and as in most of Tokyo the staff wore masks. The linens were changed daily and the room cleaned every three days and you had the option of just picking up your own linens if you didn’t want anyone in the room. The e room has a spacious bed and a kitchenette with a frig and sink and well stocked dishes and silverware. The sitting area had a nice big table that we used a lot! The tub/shower was in a separate room with individual toilet room and sink outside the shower room. Could have used a few more hangers as we were there over a week but all in all it was great. We would stay there again.…
We chose MIMARU to spend a relaxed Christmas indoors. The room is really spacious with super comfortable beds and a mountain of soft feather pillows (three per person!). There’s also a kitchen where you can cook your own meal or you can order delivery and pick it up at the front desk. You can relax in the wide bathtub and any amenities you might need are provided on the first floor. They have a really interesting project where they accept voluntary donations to devolve to the Flower Ring Project, which gives a new life to discarded flowers. There have seasonal rooms with special decorations (this month it was the Christmas room in collaboration with Awesome Store!) and the entrance, hall and rooftop were also beautifully decorated. The staff is really polite and friendly and will readily take a picture for you! The rooftop is open from 10:00 to 22:00 and at night the view is beautifully breathtaking. If you arrive at the hotel before check-in time at 15:00 the staff will kindly keep your luggage for you while you enjoy some sightseeing. This hotel is especially recommended if you travel in large groups (there are rooms for up to 8 people) or plan to stay for an extended period of time (the daily rate becomes sensibly cheaper with the weekly and monthly plans). The rooms are also perfect to enjoy a home party-like experience without the hassle of having to clean up afterwards! At MIMARU you will surely be able to create beautiful and precious memories with your loved ones!…
When we arrived, the hotel gave each guest a mask as there is a shortage of masks in the convenient store already. The hotel also posted restaurant guides in the lobby and even have vegetarian options. The area is very quiet in the weekend but in walking distance there are malls and nice restaurants close by. The room also has a lot of well thought and contemporary design and very well use of space.
Comfy and spacious room, quiet neighbourhood. Close to metro station, easy to access key spots in town It is rare to find similar hotel in Tokyo. It is the second time we stayed here and we love here. Recommended
A great place to stay in Tokyo for our family of 4 adults Clean & well equipped with a fridge ,tea and coffee making facilities. Plenty of room for luggage for four and coat storage Easy walk to train station Nice neighborhood with lots of eating options Friendly helpful staff Only small negative WiFi was a bit slow Would definitely stay again
Only 5 mins walk from Akasaka Station - remember to take exit 3A if you walk with suitcases. Plenty of eating places, in fact, too many. Love the quiet neighborhood and the convenience. Don't forget to take a walk to Tokyo Midtown from the hotel, only 10 mins walk through a park. A lot of high end brands and nice restaurants around there.
Our family of four stayed at the Mimaru Akasaka for a week this January and we loved it. The room was clean, well appointed, with all the comforts our temporary Japanese home needed. With numerous food outlets by the door, a short 5 minute walk from Akasaka subway (use exit 7) and only minutes to the bustling restaurant hub of Akasaka. The staff were friendly and helpful and my two young daughters had a ball ticking off the items on the complimentary bingo ticket, taking us to places we may not have otherwise visited. Thoroughly recommend the Mimaru Akasaka and we are looking forward to staying at the new Mimaru in Osaka next year.
This was a fantastic place to stay with our family. Reasonably priced (at least on the deal we got - I'm not sure if that is reflective or not), individual (sofa) beds for the two children, a large bed for us, a kitchenette and a substantial bathroom, all in the heart of Tokyo and easy walk to a major CBD-area (Roppongi). The room was of a standard expected from a major hotel, and there's a 24 hour laundry, umbrellas to borrow (and a staff member even kindly lent us her's when we discovered we'd been lax in getting up and grabbing one one morning!) and a rooftop area that's a nice bonus to look out over the neighbourhood. The only two negatives I recall are that Akasaka metro station isn't the most conveniently connected train station but there are another four or five within 15 minutes walk (though our youngest complained about the longer walks), and the rangehood over the stove is the wrong height for someone above about 6'2" as I hit my head literally a dozen times or more over five nights while trying to grab something off the kitchen bench.…
