This hotel was very basic though with a good restaurant. We booked and paid for 5 nights accommodation more than a month in advance, but when an emergency back in Australia occurred and we had to cancel some 2 days early the hotel declined to give us ANY refund, including for the breakfasts we didn't have. We have visited Japan on more than 10 occasions and toured widely, but never experienced such intransigence, if fact Toyota Rental Cars refunded us our unused balance without being asked! Watch yourself with this outfit, they obviously don't have the true Japanese spirit.
Imagine, you get to the property and you are expected. Management receives you at the door, your paperwork has already been processed. You are ushered to your room and screens in your room have your custom welcome message with your name spelled correctly. This is the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo. A bit of a cultural surprise, your attendants take off their shoes before entering your room! The presidential suite 1535 known as Hiroshinge is nothing short of palatial and supreme. The kitchen, office, dining and lounge all fused one spacious open plan with spectacular views of Tokyo of greens spaces surrounding urban high rise buildings. Walk-in closet and bathroom are also generously provided. Taking a shower is like walking in the rain—no claustrophobic cubicles of modern shower designs. Of course Japan is a high tech country—needless to say most room services (door, toilets, ironing or clothes) are automated. Eating from the Japanese menus tops it off—sushi, sashimi, wasabi, wagyu beef, tempura, miso soup, udon noodles and sake. This is a place YOU must visit. I will be back.…
Warning: Don't wear the yukata in the lobby, it is not appropriate as I was told. Beautiful lobby with a pianist. Amazing supermarket in the hotel with the best apples I've ever had. Nice gift shop. Beautiful garden is a must see! We saw a crane there! The pool is also beautiful.
My family and I stayed at Hotel New Otani Inn in Shinagawa for 6 nights. It was a excellent choice. Rooms were decently spacious, and up kept every day. The lobby is at Level 3, while level 2 is lined with more than 10 restaurants, and level 1 has shops such as supermarkets, Daiso etc. Lawson convenience store is next to the hotel too. Next to the hotel, is another office building with 4 levels of restaurants. Access to the Yamanote line is also very convenient, as the Osaki station is 100 meters away. Yamanote line is a loop, providing convenient access to the other parts of Tokyo e.g. Harajuku, Shinjuku, Tokyo station etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.
+ Convenient location next to Osaki station (2 min walk from hotel), about 4 stations to Shibuya + Many restaurants and convenience stores and supermarket just downstairs at Osaki New City + Room faces the Meguro River downstairs. The riverside is a good place for morning exercise + Delicious buffet breakfast with good variety of asian and western foods + Good service - Rather small room, just enough room for luggage but not for walking - but it is in line with Tokyo standards - Cannot adjust the temperature of the room? I can't find the temperature control
Stayed here last week in an executive room was fab. However come back this week stuck in a small room on 23 rd floor. Can’t open curtains as literally you can see into the office next door. One side of the bed has no power socket and if you are not careful can trip over the bed to get in. Tiles cracked in the bathroom, the ‘office chair’ is broken. The room has seen better days. Not impressed. Staff not prepared to help. Avoid as it’s a hyped up ... no way a 4 star hotel. Just charging over inflated prices for something it isn’t. Sorry but really annoyed and upset.
I came here from Narita Airport and there is an express bus to the Osaki bus terminal next to the railway station. The Osaki railway station on the Yamanote Line is just 150m from the hotel. I liked how the river is at the rear of the hotel and there are pleasant walks along it. Large shopping facilities are next door and there is even an internal door connecting one. My room had all that I needed and breakfast offered a wide choice of Asian and Western food.
I like the most as it is very convenient location just above the Osaki Station, The rooms are Nice and Clean offers free wifi. Waking distance you can go to Gate city, Osaki Station, Sony building, Osaki west Bus Station for Haneda and Narita. I like the Hotel,
We found it very convenient, just one stop on the Yamanote Linbe from Shinagawa, where we came on our Shinkansen from the South. It had all the features of the hotels we had used elsewhere, but it did have a step-free entry to the bathroom, a real plus for me. Meal prices are relatively expensive, but there is a Lawsons next door and they will heat up meals for you, and there are a number of restaurants nearby. Yes, it is just 200m to the station for Yamanote line and longer suburban lines. I made good use of it to make journeys to the countryside. Staff speak very little English, but you can arrange to have them store bags for you if you are returning later on or else until a later flight long after check out time..
I have stayed for 2 nights , the front desk is not speaking english well and i do not how I was searching for electricity converter which should be at any hotel and they can not support Rooms are very small but clean , near to supermarket and the breakfast was great
