I always stay at this hotel when in Tokyo . very close to Ueno station , great area for food and nightlife , Hotel rooms are small but are comfortable and well designed . Always good value and convenient .

The bed was lovely and soft and unexpected by my experience of beds in Japan. My room had a view and the location opposite Keisei station (for Narita train) was perfect. The hotel is also perfectly central to the night market and general shopping. Negatives: However the pillows were terrible - like a 2cm piece of foam. I added 2 together. The room was very small - a small hallway entrance, small floor space between bed and desk leaving no where to out suitcases other than the entire floor space so you climb over them. This seems to be usual for the hotels I have stayed in in this price range., so I expected this. The shower had a fair degree of soap scum, left uncleaned. It was a film of brown over white tiles, fairly careless to miss this. Some people have scratched a mark through it so how is this not cleaned? Not hard, I advise the hotel to check this in every room and clean it! The hotel lobby is tiny, taken up by check in/check out held suitcases everywhere and absolutely no where to sit to rest or eat a snack. There is a very small restaurant but you cannot sit there if not eating there. On floor 2, you can use a microwave provided for guests, but the hotel outside the rooms is not heated and no seating provided so just hopeless if after you checked out you just want to sit somewhere and drink or eat a snack. I would advise the hotel to heat Floor 2 and provide some chairs and tables in that central area - not hard and woudl make a world of difference to traveller comfort. Not everyone wants to eat out every night and to be able to have a common area for guests to eats or drink snacks together would, be great.

There are a lot of sightseeing places. For example, AMEYOKO, UENO zoo and so on. We hope you can enjoy these popular places and restaurants in UENO. Then bed hardness and pillow thickness can be changed upon request in advance.About cleaning the bathroom,We apologize for not being able to make you feel great. Very strategic location because it is only a walking distance from Ueno station, which is one of the hubs for you who like to visit Tokyo and the surrounding areas. It is only one fast train away from Haneda airport. it is not far the famous Ueno Park and all its wonderful temples and museums. It's near American Market in Uenoand Hard Rock Cafe Ueno if you happen to cellects some stuff from them. Many food vendor and supermarkets are around as well.
the room might be small but it has everything you need. I was enjoying the facilities they have inside the compact room. They put cute origamis on the sheet. The bed is comfy and the amenities are from Shiseido :). The rate is manageable and I believe it's sensible for the facilities and location they offer.

It is located in very popular and convenient area. The room is truly small, maybe tiny. However, it is cozy and clean, so for a short stay it can be accepted.
The staff follows the rules very strictly and there is no buffer you can check in earlier. 1F public restroom is quite filthy because so many tourists use it.
Overall speaking, for a short stay, it can be considered.

Thank you for staying with us here at APA HOTEL <Keisei Ueno Ekimae>. Our hotel is 3 minutes on foot from Ueno station, and 1 minute from Keisei Ueno station. So many foreign guests can use easily airport and train. Also, you can enjoy sightseeing around ueno. Regarding of the size of room, We made compact room for economic. Our check in time is from 3 pm. If you would like to check in early, the extra charge for early check in is 1000 yen per hour per room. Regarding of restroom, we apologize for making you feel uncomfortable. Booked this hotel specifically because of it's easy access to the Keisei Skyliner for my return train ride to Narita. I knew that I would have a lot of luggage going home and I didn't want to drag it around the streets and train stations of Tokyo
Booked a single room and it was perfect. Yes, it is small but it had everything that I needed.
Good value, clean and well-located.
Only thing that I wish that it had would be coin laundry. Laundry service was too expensive and I didn't want to spend my time babysitting my laundry at a laundromat.

This was my second stay at this hotel. This time, I reserved a pond view, which was very nice. I forgot how tiny the rooms are, but they are all very practical and efficient. I had two issues with this stay. 1) The room smelled strongly of mildew. Once the a/c was on, the smell was less noticeable. But when you re-entered the room after a day away, the smell was very strong. And, 2) the room didn't seem very clean, particularly the carpeting. I saw quite a bit of dust and hair deeply ground into the carpet. Perhaps a deep clean of this room would remedy both issues. But the service at the front desk is always friendly and efficient. And, the location can't be beat - so close to both train and subway stations, and Ameyokocho.

This was an excellent location for a first time visit to Tokyo. A short walk to two train stations, this made it very easy to get away. The Ueno gardons and associated museums, galleries, and temples are all just across the road making for plenty of great places to visit on foot. Convenience stores and food outlets all nearby. Being Tokyo the rooms are small, but very neat and have everything you need.

The location is perfect-closed to the train stations. Right across the Skyliner airport station and the main JR station is around the corner. Walking distance to Ameyoko for food exploring. Ueno park is across the street too. A very nice view of the park if you have a higher floor. The room size is small and it’s normal in Tokyo standard. Worth the price.

Great location, easy access. just 300metres from Ueno Station. near shop and market. The room is small but just like other hotel in Japan. The price is ok. Not so expensive. You can find 7Eleven, Family Mart etc
