Check in was fast and easy. You can check in by yourself or can have hotel staff assists you.
Room is small, Tokyo standard. The hotel has air purifier/humidity controller but the filter needed to be clean more regularly since lot of dust was stuck in there. Bed is comfortable and clean.
There is no electricity outlet near the bed, got to charge your things on TV desk. Please make sure you have proper type of adapter for the outlets.
Breakfast is included in the room rate or you may choose not to. Buffet breakfast is 1,430 yen. Selections were modest but adequate.
Location is great, right opposite the Asakusa View Hotel that Narita Limousine Bus make a stop there. Big supermarkets (Life, Seiyu) arein a few minutes walk. Donqi and Asakusa Rox are around the corner and Senso-Ji Temple is about 5-6 minutes walk.
Restaurants are plenty. Famous Ichiran Ramen is just in the back alley of the hotel. Please beware that most of Izakaya-style restaurants are allowed customers to smoke inside the restaurant.
Not much room for two large suitcases
Shower great
Location good for access to subway also restaurants and street food
Breakfast ok for pastries and coffee
Down side - no bar air seating area at reception, nobody on reception in early morning or evening
Would stay again
The hotel is very clean (as expected in any Japanese establishment) and loaded with amenities. In our room (8th floor) we had a air purifier, air conditioning, large TV, Tea service, mini fridge (grocery market located a block away so you can stock the fridge with drinks and snacks), pants press (even that!), free wi-fi (and nicely fast, each floor has its own hot spot). The bathroom had a nice tub/shower with a good water pressure, toothbrushes and toothpaste, bath sponges, hair combs and other little things. The room was extremely quiet, could not hear anything from other rooms of from outside.
The service was very friendly (again, as always in Japan). Check out is at 10am but they will keep your bags for you in the locked cages at no extra charge if you want to walk around for a few hours after checking out. I would without a doubt choose this hotel again.
If you're coming from Narita the cheapest way will cost you about $11 per adult with only one stop that will take you to Asakusa (more expensive options will only save you up to 20 minutes and you'll still have to change somewhere, usually in Ueno station).
Follow these directions: in Narita buy a train ticket for the Keisei Line at the top of the escalators (after you exit customs look for the sign to the trains). Go downstairs, head to the Keisei Line to Ueno. Change train in a station called Aoto after approx. 45 minutes (trains have announcements and electronic monitors in English, stations also have names written in our alphabet), plus any Japanese person will be more than willing to help. Stop at the Asakusa station, look for your hotel. Other options are the Express train to Ueno (about $25) but you still have to get on a subway to Asakusa.
Spotless and the quietest hotel i have ever stayed in. Though clearly very busy. I never heard another sole whilst in my room. So sleeping was a breeze.
Breakfast was included it was great the first day by day 4 still the same. It was adequate to fuel you to start your day and good value included in the room price
Asakusa is a beautiful traditional area. 4 minutes walk and you are at sensoji temple. Viewing it at night lit up is stunning. The small streets are filled with restaurants and shops. Whilst Lawson and 7/11 are right there and a big super market for anything you may need. You can walk along the sumida river or run if inclined. Also you can catch a water bus directly to the Huma Rikyu Gardens which was a lovely way to get into the city and view Tokyo from a different perspective.
The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star review was it was a 35 - 45 min trek to most other tourist sights there and then back again each day. Though i must say i did find return ing to the peace ofAsakusa after being at the shibuyu crossing was heaven…
The greatest asset for this hotel are amazing staff. They went above and beyond to help. Nothing was too much effort. Highly recommend if you don’t mind a trek home you will be welcomed to a beautiful location and see a more authentic side of Tokyo.
"In the vicinity of Senso-ji temple. Many shops, restaurants. Good metro connection."Read full review
