Our room was quite comfortable although the bathroom was very stuffy when you had a shower and you had to step into the bath which was very deep to have your shower. The bed was comfy enough and we slept well. It was a very quiet room. Breakfast was good with a good range of local dishes.

I really enjoyed my overnight stay here. From food served at dinner, the comfy bed, the hot shower and the ultra fast internet. Breakfast couldn't be more perfect here, they serve it on buffet, as if I've tasted Japan's finests and no need to go anywhere else. Arigatooooo!!!

PROS - General cleanness,ok - Good soundproofing in the bedroom - Bedroom are small as usual in Japan, including bathroom. But in general acceptable. - Staff are smiley and efficient. English is basic but enough. - Mainly business hotel - Free water bottle per night CONS - Towels in the bathroom are small - Breakfast is more japanese, indeed very limited choice about western food. - Shower water not constant and not easy to setup, the water tap is tricky - the location is not the best side. There's some department stores and restaurants around, but the neighborhood on the back is full of brothels. DO I WILL RETURN? Can happen if I have to return to Nagoya

A small hotel but you have everything that you need from the hot bath to hair dryer. Staff are very friendly and helpful they do their very best to give us the information that we need. The breakfast is so yummy, you will have your option either you want western or try local japanese breakfast. Thumbs up for Hotel Route Inn...

This brand "Route Inn" has been my top no.1 choice whenever I come to Japan. Like all other Route Inn, this one in Sakae has: (1) a very hearty and yummy Japanese buffet breakfast. There are some western food too but I simply enjoy and focus on the Japanese choices: rice, egg pocket with minced pork stuffed, sauteed pork and vegetable, fish, fried squid ring, and asparagus! The kind of food is not the same each day. You know how blissful I feel in the morning with a bowl of hot and quality Japanese rice in hand. Breakfast time is 6:30-9am. It's rather early for me such a lazy tourist. So I went back to sleep until noon. (2) 99% of guests are local people. So, tranquil ambience and polite treatment are guaranteed. No noise, no pushing, no inconsiderate behaviour met at breakfast room, lobby, lift, everywhere. In my second breakfast at 8am, the restaurant was super crowded and the guests still kept queuing up orderly and quietly in gettting the food. Japanese people deserve every respect from me. (3) an onsen (though artificial). It's my MUST-DO every night before sleep. These 3 are the things I like most. The price is good too. USD130 for two nights single room including breakfast. Other brands like Toyoko Inn are not comparable as they have many foreign guests (mainly Chinese, Hongkongers, other Asians), much more noisy though price better. The room is standard Japanese style. Small, everything required is well provided including air-purifyer, kettle, fridge, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel. Moulded toilet. My room is facing a flyover and there is traffic noise day and night. But the window shut down nearly all the noise when closed, and there is a functional air-con, so not a problem. Bed quite hard. Around 8 TV channels all Japanese. Location wise in Sakae area, though not as good as Nagoya Station. 10 mins' walk to Sakae metro station exit 12. There are a few department stores and many underground streets nearby. The restaurant next door provides good sashimi of great price. There is a shuttle bus from airport (platform no.6) ~50 mins going to Nagoya Toyku Hotel which is just in front of this inn. Bus fare 1000 yen but schedule sparse. So better take the express train from airport to Nagoya Station (35 mins) then transfer to Sakae metro station. Staff nice and helpful. Only one knows English but that's not a problem for me as I love to practise my limited Japanese. It's fun. Check-out time is 10am which is common in Japan. It's too early for me such a lazy tourist. Overall, Route Inn is always a great factor contributing to my wonderful vacation in Japan.

I always come to this hotel when I'm in Nagoya. Little hotel but with a very nice Bath (ofuru) open until 2 o clock in the night for his customers. The district of Sakae is very animated and full of nice restaurants and bars. Try the noodle's restaurant next to the hotel for a speedy and good meal or the sashimi restaurant near too.

Stayed for business and for the weekend to explore the Sakae area. The hotel is about a 10 min walk from the Sakae train station and easy to find. Plenty of small bars and restaurants located around the hotel area in the backstreets. Room was a pretty typical Japan hotel room - on the small side, clean, a few basic amentities and some nice slippers! Wifi is a problem all around Nagoya I found, as noted in other reviews, you need to register on Japanese websites and probably need a japanese local number to receive SMS etc. Bring a LAN cable. Staff were super polite but English was a little problematic (and my Japanese is terrible) - however don't let that put you off, things can resolve with printed calendars and showing paper copies of itineraries etc. Breakfast was included in my rate and was quite a large spread of standard Japanese hot+cold breakfast, was perfectly fine. hotel price was so-so, but very cheap compared to the other hotels in Sakae for the weekend. would certainly stay again if needing a launching pad for Sakae area.

A nice small hotel in a part of the city very good for shopping and good restaurants. The Onsen inside the hotel is a very appreciate plus. The price is good. The rooms are clean. The negative notice is that staff doesn't speak English, just one person could. And the wi fi was impossible to find because I had to register in a Japanese site before...

We stayed 3 nights last year and 1 night this year. One of my students left his ipod touch at the hotel. The hotel called my travel agency in Seattle and the travel agency called my cell phone in Japan to let me know about the ipod. The hotel forwarded the ipod to our next hotel over night with no charge. This is the customer service that Japan is famous for. Thank you. Oh also... the breakfast was excellent.
