We drove to the hotel so unable to comment on public transportation. Note that it is cheaper to park in the open pay parking opposite than use the hotel parking - though the hotel gives unlimited in-out privileges. The hotel is a new build and is really classy and fresh. Each room has plentiful nice small touches which make you wonder why it wasn't thought of before. Size-wise decent for Japan, of course price reflects that. Breakfast is a real winner, with plentiful options. It does get crowded so plan accordingly. The surroundings are rather drab, there is a big canal but nothing like Osaka. Still, would be happy to come again, especially if the price is right.

Wanted to stay at this new hotel in Nagoya…and was able to get a good deal with the Go Local and prove your vaccination status deal. Walked down from Fushimi station.Pass Misonoza Theatre(on your right)..go to the next corner with the traffic lights…turn right and walk straight down to the end on the left hand side of the street. It’s about a 5 - 7 minute walk which is no problem if you don’t have luggage. The hotel is very modern and new.The reception staff were professional and friendly. The room on the 11th floor was large. The bed is big and soft. The bathroom has a separate toilet and shower and a sliding door that you can close for more privacy if required. The room on the side of the hotel looked down onto the bridge and the little river…and this area is lit up at night which makes it a pretty view down to Nagoya station. The only comment to make about the room is the hanging space. There are 8 hangers which is adequate…but beware of the door into the bathroom. It slides so if someone happens to be hanging clothes etc when you come out of the bathroom you could get a nasty knock! (I guess that s why there are 2 caution signs on the hangers!) Breakfast was excellent.A great selection of many foods…with juices, smoothies and fruit. There is also a hot station where omelettes…noodle dishes etc. are prepared. The restaurant was not so busy when we stayed so it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel has good hygiene measures in place with hand sanitizers and gloves in the restaurant and hand sanitizers in front of the lifts on all floors. All in all well worth a stay…if you can get a good price. The lobby area and bar while beautiful to look at ,lack any real atmosphere during these unusual Covid times.

This is an outstanding hotel with an outstanding service, and I can thus only highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast is fantastic, no matter whether you chose, the Japanese breakfast is excellent, the continental breakfast is excellent, or you just mix both. The staff is amazing and so friendly.

Check-in was fast and friendly, and the receptionist spoke good English. The room was surprisingly small for a Courtyard by Marriott. It was also hot despite the crisp weather outside, and the air conditioner was extremely weak. The air was dry and the humidifier's tank defied being filled in the bathroom sink, the only real place to fill it. The neighborhood is nothing special. The hotel sits alongside an ugly old canal. The closest commuter train station is a long walk away. I'm sure Nagoya has better hotel options.

I found hair in the bathroom and underneath the bedsheet which was disappointing. I could not help feeling strange about the room interior, the wall paper pattern over the bed board, the partitions, the hot water kettle, the lantern and the wallpaper. Overall, it felt somewhat cheap yet playing snobbish in some way that did not really really provide me with the essential sense of comfort. There was a Mormon bible and the New Testament in the drawer and right before I saw them, I could not help feeling one of the partition door with the vertical border pattern talking to me that he would have been forced to make to wear the Buddhism o-kyo, the hours long mantra, something like Quran for Muslims, and the vision stack in my mind ever after that moment that took quite a while to take that away from my head. It just did not give me the expected happy vibe that the new buildings usually get, which also made me feel a little cheap. Something about it is perhaps new to me, I think I got confused. I would prefer the glass in between the bedroom and the bathroom and the lamp stand with a different shade. Everything else was good!
