Rooms are very clean and large compared to all the other ones we have stayed in. Staff are extremely friendly and there are multiple convenience stores and great restaurants next door. The only thing that was not awesome was the shower as it was one of those ones that can be hand held so was unable to angle it onto the body so just ended up holding for most of the time. When we first entered the reception there was a light smell of cigarette smoke but the non smoking room we had was not tainted at all. No laundry on site however their other hotel Hamilton black was only five minutes walk away so we were able to use their facilities. They called ahead and had staff waiting to help us with the machines.

Nice and clean business hotel located in good location, close to many mini-mart like Lawsons and Family Mart and Fushimi Station. The breakfast quite good. They served big bread, salad, egg, sausages and yogurt for the breakfast. The bath amenities is really good.

We used this hotel when we went to the science museum just round the corner. I think it is a business hotel but there were plenty of family and tourists staying. Bright and clean hotel with big rooms. Specially the bath room was well equipped and specious for a business hotel. They offer free drinks at the bar in the early evening for the guests. The location was good, less than 5mins away from Fushimi subway station which is just a few stop away from Nagoya station. And 10mins walk to main Sakae area. We had breakfast at the hotel, it was a set plate of toast, egg, sausages and salad - not the best breakfast ever but it was handy anyway. Staff very friendly and helpful, good location and super affordable price. Will use again.

The hotel offers very good service. We stayed in the princess room located on the ground floor and it was a very good choice indeed. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and the bathroom was very decent with a large bathtub inside. The princess room is next to the dining area so there would be a little noise in the morning but it was acceptable. The breakfast was unexpectedly good. There was a parking area very close to the hotel so it is good if you drive. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended for this price.

We spent 2 nights at Hamilton Red and as Nagoya was just a stop for us before we go back home, we just needed something functional in a convenient location. And Hamilton Red met all the criteria and, to be honest, is a very good value business hotel. Service at reception was quick and efficient and room was more spacious than I had expected. It had a small working desk and even a small wardrobe with an ironing board. The bathroom was also surprisingly spacious, although it could do with some sprucing up. The room itself was spacious enough to accommodate a single seat armchair, a queen size bed, a small working desk and still had enough room for us to place our luggages (1 mid and 1 big luggage) on the floor without compromising our walking space! The room rate came with breakfast included and the quality and portion was pretty decent. Guests are also welcomed to help themselves to drinks and cocktails (DIY) in the small lounge area during the evening, which was a nice touch. Location wise, the Fushimi subway is about 5 mins' walk away, with the Sakae shopping district about a 10 min walk. Plenty of small Japanese eateries around the hotel and also mini-marts as well. The Nagoya Science Musuem is about 5-7 mins' walk from the hotel. If you are looking for a pocket-friendly hotel with good location and breakfast thrown in, then I would recommend Hamilton Red. Plus, the rooms won't make you feel claustrophobic! Highly recommended as a value-for-money stay.

I used this hotel as a business trip. It was a bit difficult to find the place but finally I could reach there. Due to my late arrival, I thought that it's not easy to find somewhere to eat dinner. But if you are open minded, there are a lot of Japanese restaurant around the hotel. The room was quite space efficient structure as Japanese business hotels do. But the staff at the reception was so polite so that I could be relaxed when I checked in. In terms of a business use, this is quite reasonable selection.

Hotel located in Fushimi, just a 4 minutes walk from Fushimi subway station exit 5, and you can easily walk to Sakae within 10 minutes, lots of restaurants in the surrounding area, The hotel room is 25 m2, we stayed in a double room with extra bed, room size is just ok for 3 of us, the bathroom size is larger than many other 3 stars hotels in Japan, it is very clean and functional, one welcome drink and snacks provided everyday from 5.00 to 8.00 p.m. Western style set breakfast provided for an extra charge of 850 yen per person if it is not included in your room rate. Not all front staff speak English, it is a basic hotel and you can´t expect too much.

Located near Fushimi station, it's a really convenient place for visiting Sakae and Nagoya. The room size is fairly big. Considering the location and room size, I felt the price is very reasonable. (Double room for 8000yen/day) There is a lounge opening from 5 to 8pm and we can have some drinks and snacks for free.

I've travelled around Japan many times, both solo and with family, and am aware that hotel rooms can be quite small in the larger cities, where space is at a premium. However, this is the first hotel where I've felt that the twin room (for my daughter and myself) was really too small to be comfortable for two. There may be larger rooms at the hotel, so it's possible that we just got the smallest room? As a double room, with just one double bed, it would have been fine, but with two double beds in there it was simply too cramped. I love my daughter, but I don't want to be constantly bumping into her! On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was super-clean. The hotel staff were welcoming and always helpful and polite. The provided breakfast was filling, if not exceptional. The hotel is well connected to public transport and is close to many small restaurants and convenience stores. So there are lots of good things about the hotel, but it was just a bit too claustrophobic for us. It's probably better for couples or singles, rather than people wanting a twin room. But even then, if you can get a larger room, or don't mind a really small one, this is a perfectly good choice for a stay in Nagoya.

Hamilton Red is an ok hotel, don't expect much and you'll be happy. It is in a good location, close to shops, restaurants and transit. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very worn out, very old and tired. The rooms look more like something I would expect in a motel. The hotel was fully booked when we arrived and the only room they could give us was a smoking room, and it smelt awful! I had no idea it would be that bad. I had to sleep with the window wide open each night. It was hard to sleep with all the noise coming from the sleep, but it was better than smelling the smoke. The hotel has a happy hour with free drinks in the evening, which was nice.
