The Laxnes hotel is not in the centre of Reykjavik in fact it is a fair way out. But this is its charm. Only half an hour from centre by several bus options, it has a country and other worldly feel with fantastic views of the dramatic physical scenery...I got turned on particularly as an ex geography teacher. Northern lights...

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Laxnes for 9 nights and it was our base for exploring many places in Iceland. The breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of items. The location was very convenient for access to Reykjavik, to Highway 1 for going north or south, and to the Golden Circle. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet,...

I stayed here for my second time! I love the location, the staff, the location, and the views from the hotel. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our Iceland trip. Both times we got upgraded to a suite. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was good. The location is convenient to Reykjavík, but quiet. Nearby are places to eat plus a grocery and pharmacy.

This was a comfortable place to stay. The room and bathroom was clean, the bed very comfortable and breakfast was adequate. Rooms have equipment for self-catering. In close proximity to Reykjavik - about 15 minutes by car - so it was easy to travel in.

Crackin hotel in the countryside. Great views, close to amenities, bus stop outside the hotel. Very quirky hotel which we loved not like the boring generic hotels you usually find. Will be back in the winter months to see the Northern Lights!

Well-run hotel in a beautiful location with fantastic views of the mountains. Our room was spacious with plenty of character. The mini-balcony/window was a nice addition. Very friendly and helpful staff, tasty breakfast and an amazing collection of wooden cars.
