The location is perfect for a walk along to Durdle Door. We stayed in the pool room which was a cute little detached place overlooking the pool with pretty views. I wouldn't recommend going in the winter and staying in this particular house as I can imagine it gets a little cold but in April it was fine. Felt very...

Location wise you can't get any closer to the Cove than this so if it's views and beautiful scenery you're after you are in the best place. The pool area and garden are in a sightly elevated position directly overlooking the sea and with good weather is a lovely place to sit and take it all in. The hosts at...

The location was beautiful and exactly what we had imagined. At first glace the room was lovely, spacious and very bright. We were shocked that our patio doors opened onto the front courtyard, where people were sat eating. However this did not really bother us. The bathroom window was open when we arrived, which we thought to be strange. The...

When we entered our room which was separate from the main building and above another room we were pleasantly surprised. Had a nice size bedroom with double bed, two windows, one of which overlooked the Cove and the other onto the cliff to the right of the Cove. When you first enter from outside you come into a small hall...

I stayed here for 1 night in the Cove room which was very spacious and had a sea view. The blinds in the bedroom are not white, as per the photos on their website, but wood effect which are just as nice. One of the blinds was missing so some very badly fitting curtains were put up which is such...

Thank you. I have noted your points and will get them rectified. The Cove room is always popular so it is important it is well presented

Lovely location, good breakfasts but the furniture shown on the website in The Boathouse is not what was actually there when we stayed. To describe it as 'boutique and luxury' is very misleading. Whilst clean, the furniture was tatty and old. No one came into the our rooms in our 3 nights stay, bins were not emptied and drinks not...

With respect some pernickity comments. Furniture is actually antique. Fresh food is always subject to availability especially fish. Lobster comes straight from the sea in Lulworth Cove. These comments clearly do not understand what quality is about.

Interesting place, both the manager and building have character, nice rooms, superb food and drink, well worth a visit. Hotel paid for local parking as hotel placed very near the Cove. The staff team very friendly and helpful. Perfect place for Durdle Dor and Jurassic coast.

We stayed for 2 nights 3-5 March in an attic room which was surprisingly spacious and comfortable , a small problem with a radiator not working efficiently. Excellent breakfast friendly staff , great base to explore the coast with the cove only a stones throw away, we really enjoyed our stay

Stayed from the 11th to 15th of February. Had a very good time. The room, drinks and food were all excellent value and good quality. I'd strongly recommend a visit - we had a great time chatting and drinking with the manager and his son and the other staff were excellent too.

Well. This is an interesting one. Clearly apologies are in order and are sincerely given. I was away when you arrived but do remember you during the latter part of your stay and found you very affable and having a sense of humour. You probably stayed on the coldest nights of the winter so far and this is a difficult...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bishops, once the home of the Wordsworths (Bishops of Salisbury), stands on the edge of the Cove and is sheltered by Bindon Hill. Originally two cottages and dates back to 1650’s one of the oldest buildings in the village, the extensions and additions have been made with care and the building is one of the architectural features of Lulworth. The gardens overlook the beautiful Lulworth Cove and there is a large swimming pool for our guests. Bishops is on the cliff top of the world heritage Jurassic coastline at Lulworth Cove and the famous Durdle Door. Close by the stunning Studland Bay and shores of Sandbanks and Poole harbour. The countryside is ideally placed for exploring Thomas Hardy’s Wessex, The Isle of Purbeck, Corfe Castle, Swanage and Wareham a Saxon town. ... more   less
