Had a great overnight stay, the staff were very helpful and the atmosphere at the Anchor Inn was warm and friendly. We ate in and the food was excellent. Our accommodation was spacious with very good facilities. Breakfast was filling and included in our price. Overall a great place to stay and great value for money. I throughly recommend a stay.

Excellent food, I had the haddock and chips and my wife had a custom chicken burger with some dirty fries with cheese and jalapeños. Al food freshly cooked and tasty. The chips were magnificent. The food was washed down with Fullers London Pride also kept excellently. The staff were amazingly friendly so all in all a great experience.

Everything. The room was excellent with a comfortable bed & a kitchenette & fridge. We had a good nights sleep because the pub is in a quiet location. The bar area & drinks were great plus the people in there were friendly. The staff very cheerful & helpful. All in all, a great stay.

We booked for an early dinner after a long drive (we didn't sleep at the hotel) and we weren't disappointed. The staff (all young lads) were friendly and helpful and the food was proper pub grub, hearty, tasty and filling and really good quality. A special mention about the chips... If you like chips, these are among the best I've ever had! Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside and not dripping in oil. Just heavenly!

Stayed one night excellent service and staff. The room was very clean and spacious. Had a drink in the bar and found the locals very friendly. Breakfast was 1st rate. Locally grown produce and tasty. Needed a certain type of bandage for an accident I had with the car door in the morning. The lady (sorry did not get her name) who had served us breakfast managed to get me one. Thanks for a great stay and will see you again.

Stayed over on the way South. Terrific village, really interesting. The Anchor was friendly and welcoming. Family enterprise with a lot of character. Good beer, good food and flexible to our requirement for an earlier that usual breakfast. Such nice people.

We stayed 1 night, the room was like a little bed sit with lovely en-suite and nice fluffy towels. This is a quaint little pub with restaurant, the owner was lovely and nothing was too much trouble, cooked breakfast in the morning was exceptional. If I have 1 small negative was that the blind didn’t quite cover the window so if your a lite sleeper you may need to bring an eye mask - but this certainly didn’t detract from us staying again when we are up this way.

Stopped over on our way to the Malverns. The room turned out to be a min-suite with fridge, small cooker, super-soft comfy sofa and a big soft bed, all recently re-furbed. We sampled the dinner menu in the inn below and as other reviewers have noted the food was simple and excellent. I too tried the salmon which was cooked to perfection as were the sides. Breakfast was similarly high quality with lovely attention to detail in the presentation and items offered ... just superb all round.

What a lovely pub/ restaurant. Log fire in the snug , lovely atmosphere. We had lunch, not a huge menu but great food. My wife had the salmon which looked superb and I had the steak casserole topped with mash with bowl of hot cooked vegetables. Could fault at all. To full to have a dessert , which looked good as well. Will return
