We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was perfect. We saw so many animals, especially on the morning game drive and the boat trip on the river was an added bonus - stunning! The food was top class and the cake ( left in our fridge) for a birthday celebration was an amazing surprise. This really is a paradise.

We had a 2 night stay here and it was the most fabulous experience. The standard of accommodation is very high indeed. Beautifully designed lodge in keeping with the natural environment. Food is excellent, breakfast especially. And of course seeing the wildlife up close was the best bit of all. Our guide, Louis, was a really nice guy, nothing was... More

Our first Safari so don't have anything to compare against. Accommodation, food, staff & service etc. was all first class. Ranger was brilliant, knowledgeable & passionate about wildlife & habitat preservation. Perhaps some larger reserves may have greater numbers and variety of wildlife? But overall a wonderful experience never to be forgotten.

Such a great place to enjoy nature ! Very friendly staff, experienced ranger. We did 4 game drives plus the river boat tour. Don't miss any chance to see the animals. We saw almost all of them. It was THE highlight of our Garden Route Tour.

Our stay for 3 nights could not be better (beside of the weather, which was cold and extreme windy), the lodge "Settlers drift" is a wonderful place to enjoy and relax. The service was very friendly and competent and the food presented was of high quality and delicious. And the game drives with our Ranger Vicky (she was always ambitious... More

River Lodge is in a glorious setting. Our lodge was set right on the river. It was well equipped and comfortable. The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed 5 fascinating game drives and we're thrilled to see lions, rhino, buffalo and herds of beautiful elephants, including several babies. Our ranger, Zolani, was hugely knowledgeable and great fun. All in... More

Lovely place, lovely people, lovely setting, knowledgable and hospitable staff, couldn't have asked for more. We saw all the animals on safari thanks to the rangers' knowledge and tracking skills, the food was fantastic when we got back, only thing I'd change is trying to get the animals up a bit later, 5.15am alarms and 6am drives aren't my style!!!

Kariega Game Reserve has 5 star luxury accommodation and the food and wine were exemplary. This is a small reserve with game viewing in small groups with very knowledgeable and personal guides. The learning experience of the wild life and ecology of the area goes well beyond Africa's big five.

Amazing experience at the game reserve. We stayed in the Ukhozi lodge which was great for couples like us on our honeymoon. Food was amazing, the steak was probably the best steak I had ever had! The waiting staff in the lodge were so attentive and could not do enough for you. Thank you for an amazing honeymoon experience!
