This was my first time at a Game Reserve and I did not know what to expect and I have to say Kariega Game Reserve (River Lodge) exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival you felt like you were home even though it was not your residence. The staff made myself and my daughter feel very comfortable and were attentive to our...

Everything in Kariega was great. The lodge was super, huge, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, very clean and a incredible view over the valley. The food was very good, 4 times a day a buffet. The game drives were amazing. We saw lots of beautiful animals. The ranger told a lot about the animals and the nature during the drives....

What a amazing place. My husband took me there for our 30th wedding anniversary and I have to say, I was treated like a true princess. The staff are so welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble for them, they certainly go that extra "mile" to make your stay as wonderful as it possibly can. We were given the honeymoon...

Lovely bushland settings nice big comfortable rooms although lighting could be better Food not bad but for the price, could be a little higher standard. Security measures need to be improved as no safe in room and we were not offered safekeeping which was needed... Also we were unaware of the tipping procedures in South Africa on arrival at the...

Hospitality was above and beyond. Our game drive guide Vicki was exceptional. What seperates Kariega River Lodge from other quality establishments we stayed at is it's stunning location on the river. The river offers you options, boating, canoeing & fishing to fill in the hours between the game drives. We seriously recommend Kariega River Lodge to those people who just...

Kariega is a wonderful venue. Easygoing staff, relaxed environment and disconnected weekend (there is wifi but you don't have to use it). Night fishing off the sundeck was a highlight. Great game viewing too. We saw 4 of the big 5! Cant wait to return.

The ranger was attentive and ensured we had a great time. All activities were well co-ordinated and not only did we see 4 of the big five but spend the afternoon taking a boat trip to the beach. My husband caught some fish from the jetty and we went canoeing. Great service and food.

The location was excellent as was the lodge. Vicky our guide went above and beyond to make this a very memorable safari experience. ( She may be the next David Attenborough ! ) The staff , food, bed comfort , were first rate and the animals added the icing on the cake. Very beautiful and peaceful setting.

Our room was lovely, huge comfortable bed, hot shower and a free standing bath. Very clean and private with a view across the open land from the patio at giraffe and buck feeding, all sorts of birds. Main lodge clean and comfortable seating, log fire. Staff wonderful, relaxed but professional and friendly, nothing is too much bother, without being bothersome. Food...

Lovely location on the river and right in the heart of the Kariega game reserve. The hotel and grounds are perfect for the real African experience. This was an all inclusive resort so no worries about what you indulged in. Both the food and wine was excellent including the free mini bar in your room. I did have a few...
