A very nice cozy hotel where we spent 6 nights/7 days. We had a room outside the main building with a separate pool. the room was really beautiful, always tidy. Breakfast was perfect, lunch and dinner were pretty much the same. we missed the program, only a few times in the evening there was a band. In the end, we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 5days in a room with seaview and private pool. The room was very clean. The staff at the reception were always willing to help with our tour bookings, car rental and airport transfers. Our driver Philipos was friendly and calm. The dinner at the Bottega a la Cart was flavoursome and meat was tender (fish and pork belly), waiter was attentive it has an amazing view. The beach was a nice snorkeling ground when it’s calm, with a good variety of small to medium fishes, bring aqua shoes, due to rocks and pebbles. There’s a band playing by the beach bar from friday night, they finish by 10 or 11pm so you can still rest in decent hours. We met Saki and Alex at the beach bar and they make mean cocktails. They’re both such nice companies! Please try the souvlaki from the pool bar too i loved it so much, tender meat. The only thing we found not great was the buffet (breakfast included, and we tried lunch on our arrival) the mushrooms seemed like the ones you get from tins and just warmed up, and the scrambled/omelette eggs were tasteless. Other than that, the whole experience was amazing. It’s chill but it’s alive. There’s a nearby supermarket for your additional toiletries and snacks. There’s a nearby family run seafood resto which feels like in the middle of nowhere but was packed when we went, called Fish Taverna Porto Roulis, if you want local island greek food this is the place to go. The older guy playing accordion and guitar gave it even more character. Everything we ordered were fresh and tasty - greek salad, octopus, fresh grilled prawns, fried squid. We would choose to stay here again. Thank you Cavo Orient!

Dont know where to begin.. We have spent 7 nights in this hotel. All inclusive they say :) Food was terrible. No common sense about how food should be prepared.. even simpliest diahea like greek salads or fries was wery low quality. 2 choices for kids - both old and reheated from the last day. 1 or two meat dishes in the evening. Lots of dishes was not touched by the guests. You could see frustratiot in their faces and hear complaints constantly.. even the ice cream (you would think its difficult to mess up) was stone cold and old - noone could scoop them out.. they have 2 coffee mashines but just one is working even if they have qouques of 5-10 people waiting for the morning drink.. Luckily you can found 3 restourants out of hotel which saves your day or evening. You can meet lots of hotel guets there enjoing very good Greek quisine. Btw - save your forks - as you cant simply found any extras unless you steel it from orher table :D speaking about used plates - stack them in a pile on youre table if you have space or use neighbour table - servise is very slow doesnt matter if its a canteen or any other place of the hotel. WCs, elevators, kids room are filthy and disgusting as well. Use your room wc. Drinks - barmens doesnt have any idea of proportions of coctails.. poirly made AI choices and again even cuba libre or gin tonic (the ones what its hard to mess up) are made without comon sense.. you need to pay in a beach bar - even with AI.. at least you can buy there decent coctails or beer from a bottle. Advise - buy alcohol in nearby shop and store it in your fridge. Kids pool is not heated - most of the times sea is warmer the the pool. Zero kids using the pool. Shame. All entertainment units are old, broken or hazardous for little ones - be avare. Pretty much nothing to do after the dinner in hotel. Once had a concet of local band with zero information about it. We vere 6 people listening of the concert and a band said - they are happy couse usualy its less.. well - cause nobody knows about the concert.. The only good thing was a clean room. But without a surprises. Tv remote not working, hair conditioner bottle broken, shower head rusted, 2 times we had to make our own bedding ( to put warmer blancket inside it cover). Once we have tried to leave 5 euros as a tip. Was the worst decision ever - after the tip they havent put the water bottle, and havnt cleaned the room properly… tip - they leave one bottle of watter (1,5l) every time they do room cleaning. If not - go and but in a near by store. Warning - dont leave your stuff in your terrace.. every morning we have found all our stuff wet.. sprinklers does the job.. also all sunbeds are wet in the morning (and moldy becouse of that).. Dont invest in rooms with pools couse they are mostly shaded or on the main walk way.. no sun, no privacy.. Staff - just few peoples ware always smiling and in a good mood - most others - rude and unhappy. Once after saying thank you at the main bar when ordered two juice glasse i heard “drink” from a barmen when he dropped the glasses for me.. like i sopposed to feel guilty that i have asked him to do smthng.. zero prifessionalism and ethics. Resume - avoid this place unless you just need a place to sleep with low level food. If you managed to land in this place - better rent a car every day and go see/eat other places. Real Greek food and people are in every other place in Zakynthos but not in Cavo Orient. Shame on poor hotel Management and Owners. More than dissapointed.

1. even if the hotel is half-empty, the room will not be given earlier than 15:00.. this approach has nothing to do in 4 star hotel.. no one will even let you take a shower or change clothes after trip. 2. Food is food is disgusting, only the cheapest food is used, what left from lunch will be at the dinner, etc.. absolutely NO Meat only ( only occasionally minced meat with very poor quality with lot of cartilage. FISH? only fish fingers etc... disaster... not even 1 star hotel. Never more !

We've spent 7 nights in this hotel. The food was terrible: low variety, the taste was bad and so was the quality. Greece has perfect quisine, however, this hotel does not contribute to it at all. Furthermore, you buy "all inclusive" packet, but at the beach bar NOTHING is included, at the snack bar you get only ham-cheese sandwiches for free, other - you need to pay! This is not what "all inclusive" means.. The cleanness wasnt good as well. Elevators, toilets were dirty. Small details, you enter breakfast area, plenty of people waiting for coffee and only one coffee machine is working.. Kids area is moldy, old and many toys are just broken. The water in the kids' pool is not heated..cold just as in the main pool. The picture below quite sums up the situation - the hotel has good potential due to its location, size, etfc, but it needs reconsider its values and strategy. Food 1/5 Service (staff) 4/5 Technical level 2/5 Cleanness 2/5 Entertainment 2/5 Overall 2/5, consider other places.

A hugely anticipated holiday ruined by bizarre and questionable service upon arrival. Without a doubt the worst customer service we have ever received in over 20 years of travelling. Upon arrival we were told that one of the two rooms we had booked had been upgraded (we had not requested this) meaning that our group of 4 would be on opposite ends of the hotel. When asking the reception staff if there was any way they could place us in rooms next to each other, we were met with blank stares and then abruptly told “no!” without any explanation or attempt to find an alternative solution. Not the start we were hoping for! This rude and inhospitable attitude continued for the duration of our stay. Every request and question was met by abrupt responses and sullen expressions. It subsequently came as no surprise that we overheard one of the receptionists talking badly about our group to the cab driver who had picked us up. She failed to realise that one of our group members was fluent in Greek and understood each word spoken. What more do you need to know about the lack of regard this hotel has for its guests? I must also mention that this taxi took close to two hours to finally arrive (the taxis often take an incredibly long time to arrive) and when it did, the receptionist ran over demanding that we pay her as opposed to the cab driver- another inconvenient practice the hotel adhere to. To make matters worse, they significantly over charge for the taxis. For example, the hotel charged us €17 for the cab to Tsilivi, when it should have been €11. The attitude, ambience and atmosphere are not 4 star as they claim on their website. This is by far one of the most disappointing experiences had at a hotel that promised so much. Please don’t waste your hard earned cash on this sub-standard hotel-you will most certainly be disappointed if you do!

SHOCK OF RUDNESS !!! Dear 729gaganp, I think that it would make a lot of difference if four women as you point out a lot of times, were not unpolite, rude to the staff and thought that working people are their slaves. You made people at reception crying with your "excellent" attitude towards them. Not a behaviour that you expect from four young women and of course a mother to be. Hotel taxi service is always and everywhere in the world a bit more expensive than regular cabs, but you wanted to get the hotel taxi at the price of a regular cab, so you didn't have to wait for the cab. Your photos, just show a broken rail at night, which was fixed next morning from our repair team, and some messiness in the kids club, which I think is normal for kids. Probably you don't know this as you don't have any children yet. Staff cleans kids club regularly during the day but as parents do know sometimes this might not be enough. Of course the hotel didn't threaten to ask you to leave but we just complained to your travel agent about your behaviour. We have accommodated more than 8,000 people this summer and it was the 1st time we complained to a travel agent about Guest's behaviour. Imagine the level of behaviour. We wish you all the best and thank you for taking the time to write such a long text for us. Best regards Cavo Orient Team

Appalling service, awful staff, terrible food. The hotel is anything but a four star. I just got back from a five day stay at Cavo Orient with three of my friends and was absolutely shocked by the hotel staff. Upon arrival, we were not given the rooms we booked. One of my friends is 7 months pregnant and was vital our rooms were next to eachother. They told us that they upgraded one of the rooms, so my pregnant friend had to walk down a steep hill to get to her room. We were blankly told, there was nothing they could do. Very unhelpful and not willing to try. After goung back and forth, she said she would let us know if their room could be moved. Still waiting for her to let us know! The breakfast was awful, everything was cold, the coffee wasn't fresh (two machines, one which was broken) My friend sat on the chair and it broke, the staff simply stood there and laughed. Another guest came to help. When I complained to reception about this, Nadia ( staff) simply looked at me and grinned. I could not believe this outrageous behaviour. They inflate taxi fares without informing you, for example a short trip to Tsivili Town costs 11 euros, they charge guests 17 euros. I've never felt so robbed as a guest. Staff have a very bad habit of speaking about guests in greek. The receptionist Artemis, told our taxi driver (after waiting almost 2 hours) in greek that we are trying to not pay our fare. She was also well aware that I speak and fully understand greek. I also complained about this unacceptable behaviour and again was ignored. Later that evening I received a call from out tour operator explaining that the hotel had complained and said I was rude and would be asked to leave if I complained again. It is absolutely disgusting that a hotel would threaten four women, one heavily pregnant to leave because we simply complained about their disgusting service. Upon check out I spoke to the supervisor Nicos, who denies threatening us via our operator, and will forward me the email. Again, still waiting. The hotel itself boasts about private pools yet they are shaded for most of the day. You have to ask for toilet roll, the toilets have an awful sewage smell, the hotel itself is very unkept. For those thinking to come with kids, please don't! The kids club is filthy and is a health hazard for children. Please see pics below. After speaking to several guests at the hotel, all were very unhappy and there was often a queue at reception of guests complaing. Overall, the island is beautiful but this hotel is a tragedy. I am not sure why and how they are still operating. I have visited many greek Islands and have always been so pleased with their warm friendly approach. The staff here are far from that.

Overall I have given this a 4 star rating but they do have some 5 star attributes. Food - lots of variety and restaurant staff are very good so I’d give this a 5/5 Bar - staff were a bit quiet to start with but by end of the holiday they were good. Hotel cleanliness - Rooms were very clean and cleaners were available when required 5/5 Hotel rooms - We had a little trouble with the joining rooms being loud but the hotel manager was approachable and we came up with a solution of putting a towel under the door gap to stop the noise. Location - The location is good if you want to sit by the pool all day eat and drink but if u like different restaurants and shops then a car is needed. Pool - The pool is good size and good temperature Sun Loungers - No need to get up and rush for ur bed as there are plenty throughout and comfy 5/5 Gym - Not much for weights but has a treadmill, bike, cross trainers so you can workout out. A/C - LG spot on 5/5 Reception - Staff always polite no matter what situation they are out in. We really enjoyed our stay here and for a week with the sun and relaxing it’s a good place to stay.

This was by far one of my favourite family holidays. We are staying in a panoramic sea view suite on a bed and breakfast board. The room is beautiful, with plenty of space for a family of 4 and the gorgeous balcony doubles up as a separate room due to the fact it has shade and therefore we are able to use all day. The staff are amazing, from the ladies on reception and all the staff in general had a smile but special mention to the lovely Kostas at the pool bar ( my husband loved his own creation ‘bazooka’ ) and our favourite barman Sakis at the beach bar. Please try the ‘Sebastian’ named after his son.. the most amazing cocktail I have ever tasted ( and there have been a few! ) such a lovely guy! My boys loved him and now follow him on instagram :) The hotel is remote, but if you are looking for relaxation you can’t go wrong here. The hotel is so clean and makes brilliant use of the space, I loved the hanging chairs and the cube and never a shortage of loungers whatever time you make it down to the beach/pool. The beach is pebbly but well worth the effort when you do get into the sea, the pool is very relaxed and never seems overly crowded even in peak season. Breakfast is busy as expected but we didn’t have lunch or dinner at the hotel and ate out in Tsilivi or Zante town. The last night we chose to eat in the a la carte restaurant at the hotel ‘bottega’ and it was by far the best meal we’d had in the 12 nights, beautiful relaxed atmosphere, service views and food. We also had a brilliant time on the turtle island, blue caves:shipwreck beach and Tsilivi water park days out. We’ve loved every minute here, thank you Cavo Orient! :)

I stayed here with my family. I did not expect it to be as good as it was. Sakis at the beach bar was a key to this holiday being really good. Every night we went down as a family to the bar for a drink and he was welcoming from start to finish. He isn’t the only staff member though. Kostas as the pool bar was also very welcoming and friendly, also the lady at reception who i didn’t get their name, but she was also very friendly. The food at breakfast was okay, as a b&b guest i didn’t have the breakfast every day, it was all quiet samey and boring but apart from that everything else was superb. The hotel is right on the beach, so you have both experiences with the pool and the sea. Overall i thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the room was very clean and the maids came every day to hand us new towels, and fresh bottled water and to make the bed. Only bad thing about the room is that not all plug sockets worked , which wasn’t really an issue none the less On a whole though, i thought the hotel did a good job.
