It is a very long bus ride into the Park so we fly in one way and got the bus out on our return. The Lodge is a great place to stay with niece cabins set in near perfect setting but bring the bug spray! My only comment would be that the cabins are very close together in some cases...

A superb spot from which to enjoy what the park has to offer. From biking the gravel park road to hiking the often steep trails; the mountains grandeur and massive scale were a constant reminder of the titanic geologic forces still at work in this part of the world. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Guided activities were available...

We stayed here at Denali Back country Lodge on our third day in Alaska! It is surrounded by wild life and a huge river below! The hotel has a gift store, restaurant and each room units look kind of like apartment buildings. Our room was a strange size, and it was hard to move the roll away bed to a...

Yes, it takes 6 hours on a school bus to get to the lodge. But it is the same route and similar buses traveled by all tours offered by the National Park and goes beyond their route. Yes, its expensive. It is also in the middle of a secluded valley in Denali with a running river adjacent. Yes, it has...

Saw interesting wildlife, but rooms way overpriced. Good staff but hikes not appropriate for all seniors. No wi-fi to check travel schedules. Old busses (92 miles). Tundra does not have the beauty of the heavy forest found near Denali entrance and at other Alaska locations. Certainly not for everyone.

Rc W, Thank you for sharing your experience at Denali Backcountry Lodge. I'm disappointed to read that you did not fully enjoy your time in Kantishna, and that this was not the right fit for your interests. Due to the remote nature of the property, our operation is completely off-the-grid. We are proud to offer the level of amenities we...

We were the first guests of the short season. Some staff had been in residence for about three weeks, but, clearly, the lodge was not quite ready for prime time. We nevertheless paid full price of about $500 per person per day, not including a "suggested" per person tip of $20 per day. The tour bus PA system was broken...

Thank you for taking time to share your experience, Oregon97112. I am sorry to read that your stay did not live up to your expectations. As you can imagine, opening a wilderness lodge in a remote location such as Kantishna presents a unique set of challenges. We strive to provide our guests with superior customer service, and to provide a...

As soon as we checked in to Denali Backcountry Lodge I realized that I wished I could spend at least one more night there. The accommodations were perfect, spacious and wonderfully appointed. The food was way beyond what might be expected at a Lodge which is "all inclusive." The food was served family style but the food could also compete...
