We feel incredibly grateful, renewed and inspired by our stay at Tonglen Lake Lodge. Donna, Erica, Ann and Ryan were all locals who epitomized Alaskan passions (backcountry skiing, hiking, art, wildlife exploration) and real human interaction . The location allowed us to (during the day) explore hiking trails (with Donna herself), snowshoeing Denali, dogsledding in Fairbanks, then retreat in a...

So my hubby and I stayed in the cabins here last spring and we were amazed by the cabin and the service. We wanted to get away for the long weekend in the middle of winter so decided to give the bed and breakfast a shot. This place is beautiful! The rooms are spacious, super clean and just gorgeous. We...

We stayed here in late November and enjoyed being the only guests in the big house. They have newly remodeled bedrooms and bathrooms down the hall. Very comfortable, with full use of the kitchen (bring your own food, as during the winter this area of Alaska has very minimal services.) We went for hikes in the park, around the property...

I visited only the cafe, but it was a beautiful setting off the main highway, up a lovely dirt road. It is on a small lake with great views and an on-site massage therapist when I was there. They also have on site concerts, and wonderful art work on display. I highly recommend it.

This is one of the most beautiful properties we have ever stayed at. Adjacent to a lake deep in the woods, Donna has created a secluded haven with a particular appeal to artists, my wife being one. Everyone has their own log cabin, but these are not the log cabins written about in Call of the Wild - warm, luxurious,...

The stay was amazing with a stay at genuine log cabin, tasty pastries and delicious meals at Artisan Cafe, paddle boat to enjoy Tonglen Lake, Monday evening hike where you spot a Grizzly 50' away, warm hospitality of Donna and her staff, and away from the cruise crowd closer to Denali park, this place was a true find! Highly recommend...

the quiche and the oatmeal were both excellent, as was their coffee. A very airy, laid back place a ways off the highway. The server had very good recommendations for our hiking adventures we went on that day.

Tonglen Lake Lodge was such the perfect mountain retreat. The cabin was so cozy and comfortable - I've never slept so well away from home! The staff was exceptionally friendly, and Cindy was such a joy to work with in planning not only our stay at Tonglen, but other activities in the area as well. The delicious breakfasts at the...

My husband and I had a lovely stay here. We stayed for three nights. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful - clean, well maintained and absolutely charming! The on site café is wonderful too. Friendly attentive staff and warm conversation always. On a small lake with trails around the property it's a great place to return to after your...

This is a great little spot about 8 mins from the park entrance, away from all the touristy park entrance area. This property is set back off the road with a beautiful open area with fire pit and lake area. The cabins are very modern and absolutely beautiful. There is not thought of "roughing it" when you stay here. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just 7 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park we've built a genuine Alaska-style luxury lodge for visitors seeking an exclusive Denali experience. Local artisans and builders created this exquisite lodge from native trees and handcrafted every detail in the lodge, cabins, gallery and cafe including furniture, quilts, pottery, wood carvings, paintings, metalwork and glass. Tonglen Lake Lodge features 10 secluded cabins for guests searching for a true, cabins-in-the-woods getaway. Breakfast at our on-site Artisan Cafe is included in your stay. In the evenings, our cafe offers a Bistro menu along with a selection of wine and Alaskan beer. Enjoy an evening sitting by the campfire, roasting your own s'mores, soaking in the view of the surrounding Alaska Range and leaving your stress and worries behind.
