Make sure you request lake side. A little noisier as kids play, but views are worth it. They made some significant upgrades since our last stay. Will continue to stay here on future visits. In walking distance to glacier shuttle system.

My first time staying inside Glacier National Park. I am so glad we stayed. The room was located just a short distance from the south end of Lake McDonald. The room was rustic, but we know that before had. The beds were very comfortable and the room clean. The staff were helpful in all things. We had a key issue...

Expected more for the price. The cabins are in dire need of better upkeep and updating. The beds were atrocious and the shower was smaller than one in a rv or cruise ship. The towels and sheets felt like Brillo pads. A little effort goes a long way. The view of the lake was the best thing here. The restaurant...

Second time here, the first since it is now part of Glacier Pk inc. Much easier to got avability than the places operated by Xanterra... We had a cabin on Mc Donald creek : a porch, a nice kitchen and good bathroom...Always that system of shower with a fixed arrival but the norm in the US...Do you know that a...

We lucked out by snagging the last cabin on a cool, rainy day. The place was charming, cozy and comfortable. Full sized fridge was a welcome sight for stashing our perishables. The freezer was super-cold and did the trick for getting us prepped for the next part of the journey. Dining and views were all within easy walking distance, even...

The motel is classic 50s style. Older, maintained. Very nice staff. It is a super location steps from SW end of Lake McDonald. Easy walks around and to the Apgar visitor center. Limited eating choices. But Eddies is very good steps away

We stayed in a cabin that had a kitchen. There were plenty of lights for reading. Our queen sized bed had a very comfortable mattress and pillows. Best accommodations in a national park that we have ever stayed at.

Excellent historical cabins in a great quiet area with the fabulous Lake MacDonald 50 yards away! Not sure about all the negative reviews -- these old historical cabins are not comparable to modern hotels. If you want a modern hotel I recommend you go to the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn in busy Whitefish or Kalispell. We found the cabins...

I rented a cabin, a couple of motel rooms in the lodge, and a room at the neighboring Village Inn for a family reunion. For everyone rating this so poorly, there is nothing in the literature that touts these cabins as anything but rustic, so it was about what I expected. The bathrooms were pretty tiny, especially in the lodge,...

Welcome to the 40's ladies and gentlemen. Overpriced!!!! Very small, the mattresses are shot, they sag horribly. The bathroom is small, if you want to shower you better be short and under 150lbs. No WIFI and the cell phone signal is horrible. Please note, the property this disaster adjoins is beautiful and can't be best, but you can't sit outside...

Glacier Park I, Manager at Apgar Village Lodge, responded to this review

Hi Rich S, thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback about your stay at Apgar. The cabins in Apgar are some of the most historical buildings in Glacier, dating back to the 1890's. The task of updating seasonal cabins like these inside the National Park is challenging accounting for the small showers you experienced. We're glad you enjoyed...
