If I had driven up to Phantom Ranch there would not be half the charm as having done such an amazing and for me challenging hike down the South Kaibab trail. To find such an oasis from any modern ammenities is really special. My only wish upon arrival was a greeting commitee with a presentation of some wine and snacks....

what an incredible experience ! the hikes were amazing and to be treated so good at this little oasis at the bottom was such a bonus. Took us 5 hours to hike down South Kaibab (stopping way to often for photo ops - in late october. We arrived at Phantom and after a very cold beer were immediately and happily...

My husband & I were so fortunate to spend two nights at Phantom Ranch in October. The hike in and out of the Canyon was a bucket-list item for us, and we booked our Phantom reservation almost 13 months in advance. Despite that, we were unable to get a private cabin, so stayed in the bunkhouses. The bunkhouses are exactly...

I am glad you were able to experience Phantom Ranch, one of the great places on earth. Having been there, I agree that the available seating is a bit firm. I am sending your comments to our Rooms Director for any thoughts on improving. I think chair rentals are a great idea, but the Park Service has to approve all...

Less than 1% of the annual visitors to the Grand Canyon every make it to the bottom and Phantom Ranch. For those willing to take the extra few thousand steps to get to the bottom they will discover it is worth every step. The views from the bottom of the canyon are even more awe inspiring as the ones from...

Amazing experience! this was a trip of a life time and we couldn't ask for better food or service or scenery. Rangers talks were very entertaining and educational. I loved mailing the postcards that are brought up by mules.

This was my fourth time at Phantom Ranch, which means I managed to hike out four times! Yes, when we go in April and May it's always very hot in the canyon (like over 100 degrees), but this time - October 1&2 -- the weather was ideal. We left the South Rim at dawn with temps in high 40s but...

Getting to Phantom Ranch felt like a miracle at the end of June. Although I live in Phoenix and am used to the extreme heat, hiking from the North Rim at this time of year was exhausting. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! My next trip will be at a different time of year and may not include...

This was my second trip to the Ranch and I love it more now than before. it was 15 degrees cooler than on my last trip - only 102 degrees. It's easy to cool off by spending time in the creek or at the cantina. We also had one of the best steak dinners ever. They say the steaks are...

My wife and I are not young gazelles; we’re late-middle age and were only in fair-to-good physical condition but made a plan to hike in, stay at Phantom Ranch and hike out, and we followed through with training and preparation. Research, reading the comments of others, looking at hundreds of photos, following the Google cameras step-by-step, adding more and longer...

Phantom Ranch is an amazing place because you have to work so hard to get there. Then you get there and you can have beer, lemonade, candy, full meals, lodging, campsites, ranger led programs, etc. And the views...are so special. My favorite thing is to lay on a granite outcrop by the Colorado River and nap with my feet dangling...
