What can I say other than that there really is only one way to visit the Grand Canyon and that is by staying there. Not close, but in the Village.

Perfect location inside the park at a reasonable price and most importantly with A/C.
Queen bed with bunks worked well for us.
Being able to get up in the morning for Sunrise a be at the rim in minutes is certainly an advantage.
We stayed in the non-air-conditioned cabins and it worked out well. The room was spacious and the cleaning staff was friendly. Convenient to many hikes and amenities. Park appeared busy, but we didn't hear a thing at night.

Be prepared for any kind of weather. We were just at the park in mid May and it was very cold (33-55 degrees), windy, rainy and it hailed. It can also be unseasonably hot. Personally, I would always prefer an air conditioned room in June because there is the potential for it to be very hot and that would ruin my trip.
