Sacred Sands is absolutely magical. Was lucky enough to stay for two nights after Thanksgiving and I will never forget it. Scott and Steve (the fabulous hosts) have created a place like no other -- so peaceful -- so romantic -- so relaxing -- you will never want to leave. It's like staying with friends—if your friends are charming hosts/chefs/designers...

We spent two wonderful nights here around the end of October. It was an excellent location from which to explore Joshua Tree National Park, it being one mile from the Park Entrance. Architecturally, the venue is very interesting since it is a straw bale constructed house. Our room was very comfortable, wonderful bed, lovely bathrooms - loved the river rock...

Just lovely. Absolutely bloody lovely, frankly. We had the sunset room and spent hours just gazing up at the stars in the desert sky (through Scott and Steve's rather fab binoculars), lounging on the outside bed or steaming in the hot tub. Breakfast is a relaxed, casual affair, chatting over the counter as Scott and Steve chop and peel and...

As the other reviews here make clear, this place is wonderful. Everything is perfectly balanced: location is very close to the park and near to town, so amenities are accessible but you still feel isolated; the rooms are luxurious but also well integrated with the surroundings, not like a materialistic indulgence that distracts from the natural beauty around you; the...

This is a place we would return to. After receiving a warm welcome and a well made pot of tea we were left alone to enjoy the desert sunshine. The decor and facilities are second to none and peace and tranquility abound. The outside area was seceded and allowed us to develop an allover tan and it was great to...

The talented owners, Scott and Steve, are clearly "in tune" with each other and their surroundings. For us this translated into three nights of a veritable "Symphony" made up of ambiance, victuals, comfort and location. Whether lying in the outdoor hot-tub watching the meteor shower, or standing in the "cave" surrounded on all sides by wonderful water, sitting on the...

Along with everyone else who has reviewed here I cannot recommend Sacred Sands highly enough; it was a treasure of a place to come across and we truly enjoyed the peaceful and calm days we spent here. The quietness of the countryside, the great conversation with Scott and Steve over breakfast, the night sky from the hot tub, the innovative...

My husband surprised me with a trip to Sacred Sand for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was amazing! The room was wonderful – beautifully decorated down to every luxurious detail. The view was spectacular, even from the hot tub! The food was delicious! We had everything we needed for a romantic weekend in Joshua Tree. I loved my stay...

We got married at Sacred Sands in late 2009 and it was absolutely perfect in every way - we can't say enough about it! Scott and Steve were so attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. All the details were taken care of from the flowers to the cake to the color of the...

Who are these guys, "Scott and Steve"? Didnt some malcontent have a complaint or a bad meal? Being a life-long traveller, I was intrigued. Enough to travel from Philadelphia, PA to Joshua Tree, California. In June. While heartily disliking hot weather, B & B's and hiking. After 3 days and nights, I solved the mystery. Spending time in Joshua Tree,...

“There are two rooms and either one would be great.”

“Though other reviews said the rooms are comparable, and we did not see inside one room, we were so happy to have the more expensive room with its larger, wraparound deck. It allows a larger view of the desert and mountains away from the direction of town, and it is on the end of the building, so you can truly take one step outside your door and you are in the desert.”
