There the last night open for season. Bar out of stock, food choices reduced, meals nothing special. Accommodations good. One bad waiter experience in main dining room but reported person to management. I would return next year just not the last weekend, lesson learned

It's a classic lodge in a perfect location. The views are breathtaking, love the fireplaces. Lots of hiking opportunities. We also went horseback riding and were well taken care of. Enjoyed the restaurant too.

Stayed here for a weekend trip to Shenandoah. Booked one room and we were put in the Hawksbill cluster of cabins. It was definitely rustic but very clean and charming. The lodge was a delight for breakfast and dinner. You have beautiful views in the big "family room" while you wait for a table...you may wait a bit for breakfast... More

Very quiet location and beautiful views and great lodge. Restaurant and Bar also excellent with great entertainment, only complaint was the coffee at the gift shop Can't beat the mountain trails and views

Beautiful location, stunning stars, a communal fire-pit, and live music. Huzzah for all that! The restaurant left a little to be desired for dinner, and the room's bathroom could have been cleaner - otherwise this was great.

Overall, our experience was very satisfying. We used our Shenandoah National Park Association membership card to get a 30% discount on our lodging, 20% on each meal, and 20% on each purchase in the gift shops throughout the park--Well worth the price of $47 for annual membership. We were treated as special guests wherever we went (except at one gift... More

Beautiful setting in Shenandoah National Park. We stayed in one of the buildings detached from the lodge. The room was comfortable but spare, with hard floors (likely because of the wood-burning fireplace. Enjoyed the fire in the cool autumn evenings. The only complaint about the room is that the bed was too close to the heat register, and when the... More

The lodge is great for those who want to unplug. Dont expect TV or WIFI, you are in the mountains for a reason :-) Food is a bit expensive and there are no refrigerators/microwaves in the rooms. (Or at least in the room with just a double bed.)

We made reservations at the Big Meadow Lodge INSIDE THE LODGE When we got there after calling to say we'd be late they told us they had NO ROOMS in the LODGE they took a WALK IN and they would put us up in a nicer room (NOT) outside the LODGE up a path, up stairs in the POURING RAIN---... More

The beauty of the setting and close access to attractive sites is the appeal of this lodge. The rooms were clean, attractive and comfortable with a lovely view. The staff at the lodge were very attentive and friendly. The food in the dining hall was good, not spectacular but not overpriced. This older facility could use a few updates but... More
