Detailed Reviews
This place is really lovely. Gorgeous view, beautiful pool, clean and well -equipped units.
Love the outdoor kitchen. Quiet and peaceful. A good location for exploring BasseTerre with a car (which you will definitely need of your stay here). There is a supermarket and veggie/fruit stand 2km away and it is easy to self-cater. Wifi worked well.
Our only negative is we didn’t find staff welcoming and communication responses via email took quite a while. The owner/manager also informed us we didn’t need to book a taxi at the airport when we returned our rental car (no shuttles priced:-( as there would be taxis lined up. This was not true at all and we made our ferry with three minutes to spare which was very stressful. I sent an email indicating this (to help future guests) but did not even get a response.
Also, be aware that if you are driving here after dark, the road is really winding, narrow and curving and it will take you longer than expected. We had the added challenging of pouring rain so found the drive a little harrowing.

Magnificent Pension with stunning views of pigeon island. The staff was really nice, special mention to joël and his small dishes that will make you love Caribbean cuisine.
You will also enjoy a large swimming pool with panoramic views for your moments of relaxation.
I would return without hesitation! 🥰

10 days in Guadeloupe at the Jardin Tropical. This is exactly what we were looking for for our vacation: beauty of the place, tranquility, relaxed and family atmosphere.
What a “luxury” to have breakfast every morning on the terrace of your bungalow in the company of birds and in the middle of a tropical garden. The view from the bungalows over the Pigeon Islands is postcard-worthy.
Probably one of our fondest vacation memories.
The big positives:
- be able to order your breakfast and/or dinner (very good local dishes) if you are “lazy” to cook.
- the swimming pool large enough for the 11 bungalows and the 2 villas. But rarely many people at the same time.
- the kindness of the staff
- proximity to places to visit
Definitely worth doing again!

Good morning,
It's been two years since we chose the tropical garden as a destination because it is in the middle of the lowlands and therefore very well located to enjoy hikes and less touristy beaches.
It is a true haven of peace with a breathtaking view of Pigeon Island, where you can spend peaceful and rejuvenating holidays.
We are very pleased to find local and authentic staff there with a special mention for Joël who makes us taste West Indian dishes every evening: a pure delight!!
The manager is always there to tell us his good tips for discovering the islands of Guadeloupe. He is very welcoming and very helpful.
We will return!

Idyllic location with divine views and sunsets over the Ilets Pigeons and the Caribbean Sea. Equipped and super comfortable bungalow with ceiling and pedestal fans. Towels provided and changed mid-week.
Special mention for Joël who pampers his customers with delicious Creole dishes and a thousand touches. Want to come back as soon as possible!

We spent 4 nights in a Beginner Family Bungalow. The Bungalow is spacious with magnificent sea views and has a kitchen, living room, separate bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Two elements that could improve comfort: during our stay, there were no mosquito nets on the beds or windows (it is possible that this is no longer the case as the Pension maintenance seemed to be a priority).
The Owner and the employees are very friendly and always caring.
Joel's cooking was excellent.
A good address to spend a quiet holiday near the Cousteau reserve.

Another beautiful stay in the tropical garden
Gianni and his team are charming and welcoming.
The place is ideally located for visiting Basse Terre and the view is magnificent.
We were a group of 28 friends and we will keep wonderful memories of our stay at the tropical garden.

the tropical garden is a great place where we could take the time to live. The accommodation was spacious for us (2 adults 2 children). The kids loved the pool and the fact that Malendure beach was so close by car. We discovered the magnificent waterfall of the Parc de la Source which is located just 2 minutes by car, a little higher than the accommodation. Giovanni not being present, we were welcomed by José. He is a wonderful person and an amazing cook.
The dishes we ate there were a real treat. A big thanks to him.
The accommodation was perfect. Small downside for television in the evening. Few channels but that's just a detail.

A warm welcome with bungalows with a magnificent view of the Pigeon Islands. Everything is super clean and comfortable. The outdoor kitchen is pleasant and has just been redone.
The dishes offered are very good and delivered directly to the bungalow.
I recommend ;0)))

Another great stay from March 15 to March 29, 2024. Warm welcome. We never tire of this view of the pigeon islets. The bungalows are very well equipped and the bedding is top notch. Thanks again to Joel for treating us to Creole dishes. We'll see you soon.
