Room is clean and comfortable. Hosts are friendly and warm. What I love most about this minsu is that is it a 5-7 minutes walk from a viewing deck for sunrise and just beside the minsu is a 15 minutes hike up where one can have a beautiful view of the tea plantation. The minsu has a beautiful and lovely...

This homestay is not at Alishan so make sure you inform your driver properly. It is located at half way to Alisan. The room is spacious and comfortable. We took the 4 person room. Breakfast was great. Before breakfast, you can take 40 mins walk trail. 15 mins to a place to see sun rise. Then the rest are tea...

Stayed for 2 nights as a solo traveller and it turned out to be the best accommodation I'd booked during my stay in Taiwan. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge and clean. Mr Cai and his wife were both very lovely hosts, along with the guy they had looking after the house. The owners are usually...

Actually visited in Feb 2014. The owners are fantastic people who made sure we had an enjoyable stay. Just outside the minsu is a great scenic site with fantastic views of the mountains. If you're lucky you may be able to see a sea of clouds with the sun shining down. There's a short hike that you can take just...

We wanted to avoid the crowds that were certain to flock to Alishan as it was springtime and the Cherry Blossom season was about to end so we looked for a quiet place where we could see a great sunrise and sunset at leisure. Since we arranged for pick up service (to 53.1 plus service to Alishan & back to...

Firstly, it is next to the Eryanping Trail. A great trail to walk to experience the sunsets. This place not only offers great sunset photo opportunities, it gives you a chance to experience sunrise photo opportunities from the Xiding Viewpoint Platform about 200m away. Yes, you don't have to wake up in the dark and get there. About 6 AM...

It is one of our best stay throughtout our taiwan trip. The homestay is a bit far and not so acessible but you can always ask the owner to help you call a cab to fetch you from Chiayi train station. There is also shuttle bus to take at scheduled time to Alishan and a few attraction spots. I really...

I chose 53.1 based on reviews & it was beyond our expectation. The owners were very nice & patient in answering my numerous queries & helped to arrange a full day trip by taxi at TWD3,500 (pick-up at Chiayi HSR Station-> Alishan Recreational Park-> Fenqihu-> Minsu). Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm welcome by the owner. The room is...

The minsu has a strategic location. You can reached there easily using public transport. Get down at An ding and cross the road to reach minsu. The minsu owner owns a tea shop opposite the minsu. They would treat you to a cup of tea while you wait for your bus to arrive. They have a gps to check the...

We were backpacking around taiwan and the way we planned our trip to alishan with our huge backpacks are as followed: From Chiayi train station, there will be people asking if you need a ride up to alishan/fengqihu (we missed the train timing) and we hoped onto one of those private transportation ride (not very expensive instead is comparable to...
