We stayed here in May 2015 for a significant birthday and decided over a year before, that this was where we wanted to go, even turning down Iceland and Norway!! This has always been our favourite 'Grand Design', such vision and determination. When we realised that Karen and Francis were letting part of the property for B&B, we knew that...

We stayed in the Old Bedroom, this week, for two nights and had the most amazing stay. It was, indeed,a privilege to stay in this rare building. A triumph of a restoration, of hospitality and attention to detail. Francis and Karen are delightful and the welcome was like the log fires - warm, hypnotising and a cracking experience.

Stayed at Peel Castle from Grand Designs for a one night stay, wish we'd book for two nights! What an amazing place. The WOW factor from start to finish. Karen was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We were first to arrive & Karen gave us the full tour, with spectacular views from the top floor, amazing spaces, quirky...

Wow, this place could not disappoint. Karen is lovely, attentive and an amazing host. We stayed in the old bedroom and the attic apartment which are both breath taking for different reasons. If you love beautiful architecture, stunning views and a delicious breakfast then this is for you. Words do not do this castle and hosting justice! Thank you Karen...

The castle is amazing - we were the only guests there when we first arrived so we had a tour of all the rooms (and bathrooms!) which was wonderful. We stayed self catering in the attic apartment - the views are absolutely first class, and the accommodation is fabulous. Everything you could want is provided, and lovely little extra touches...

After seeing the Grand Designs program about Hellifield Peel Castle we felt that we had to book a weekend away. The place is magnificent and the owners have done a superb job in the restoration. On arrival we given a guided tour of the bedrooms which had been expertly decorated with lots of additional hidden extras. We had the Chapel room...

Amazing couple of nights here. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and booked the attic apartment. It was fabulous. Karen was incredibly friendly and the standard was out of this world. We loved it so much we booked again for April. Thanks for a great time.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our two night stay. It's difficult to imagine how it could possibly have been better. Karen was so attentive and did everything possible to make our experience memorable - this is not just a B&B, but so much more! We felt more than just paying-guests, but rather people that Karen and Francis...

Best place we've ever stayed in. Fantastic hosts, amazing bedroom and bed, fabulous house, gorgeous breakfast, beautiful scenery, lovely little extra touches e.g the chocolates, wine, cakes, shortbread, flowers. What more could you want? Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely little village 10 minute walk away with good pub for real ale and great pub food at very reasonable prices....
