We stayed 4 nights in The Stables and are frequent visitors to Bach Wen. It was very cosy and lovely and warm. However, it desperately needs a new sofa which was extremely uncomfortable. Not sure why there were no utensils to make the fire? I guess this is why the fire wasn't cleared out upon arrival. The smaller bedroom despite being cosy was very damp. The quilt was wet every morning where it had touched the walls. There was only one drawer available as the others were full of pillows. The larger bedroom had lots of mould up the curtains and upon returning home we found woodlice in the clothes. We also found wooflice in the bedroom. Definitely wont be returning to this cottage.

Absolutely brilliant! A hidden gem! 2 min walk to the secluded beach. Views from your bed of the sea! Has an almost private beach. And a little waterfall leading to a stream! Host is extremely helpful! Nothing too much trouble. The pods are clean, warm and cozy!

Spacious, warm cottage (the mill), plenty of hot running water, comfortable beds and stunning, ever-changing views without having to venture out of the building. So relaxing. Kids sad to leave too. Perfect place for large groups to get together, but who still like their own private accommodation

Just got back from a stay at Bach Wen. We were party of a large party who had booked all the accommodation for a birthday celebration. And what a celebration. Perfect venue and setting with amazing views and surrounding area. Not to forget the private walk down to the beech. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Would highly recommend for anyone.

Spent the weekend here with friends to celebrate birthdays. We were in the Mill which was clean, warm and comfortable. The Barn provide the perfect venue for everyone to gather (40+) to have a pie and pea evening, a dancing evening and the third night we had a Mystery Murder evening. Amazing food prepared by Mandy for all the guests and great welcome by John who looked after us very well. Thank you

Just had a fabulous long weekend celebrating our big birthdays, we had the whole site and had a party in the barn on Saturday night. Further entertainment in the form of a murder mystery kept everyone laughing on a cold wet Sunday in the barn which is well decorated and warm with its own log burner. The cottages are quirky and rustic in keeping with the location, although The fixtures and fittings do feel a little tired but the venue, location, views and hospitality more than make up for this. All the cottages have log burners and logs are available on site with an honesty box. The cottages were all warm and the log burner was not really needed but looked lovely. Mandy from Rainbow Eats provided fresh home cooked food on Saturday night and was back on Sunday to make us a roast dinner. The food was amazing and John was a star hosting us throughout the weekend and generally being available to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The venue is dog friendly and there a views to die for every way you look. The whole place has a cosy feel. There’s access to the beach directly from the site and plenty space for children and dogs to play. We are already planning our next visit.

Thank you for a great holiday. We loved the rustic charm of The Boathouse, and the log burner was a real treat to come back to each wet day! The beach was great for walking the dog’s and only minutes away 😊

I wish I has seen these reviews about The Bakery, we had the same issues plus more. I would never have booked it. Pity because its a lovely area and pleasant owner. We have been holidaying on the Llyn Peninsula for over 30 years and never had a bad experience until now. Seems like the campers had better fercilities because the owner advised us to use the camp showers rather than cottage one as much better.

Booked to camp in the glade. It looked amazing on the website. We were told to check in at 4pm. We arrived early to find out you could check in anytime. Reception was closed so we had a walk and found the glade .Horrendous a dark dank hole with a minging fridge. No car access at all . I had a car roof box and trailer full off equipment. We would have to carry everything over a 100 meters to get to the glade. No views. Dismally unattractive. We had to book another site. Bach wen is disgusting for a campsite.....

Response from Bach Wen, Owner at Bach Wen Cottages
Responded 4 Jul 2023
Hi there. We are so sorry to hear about your experience. As you will see the overwhelming majority of our reviews are excellent and many people return again and again to the site but we completely accept that the fridge had not been fully cleaned and we massively apologize for that. We have now put steps in place to make sure that doesn't happen again. Regarding your description that it is a 'dark dank hole' we feel this is unfair. The Glade is one of our most popular spots and most people love it as it is extremely private, not overlooked by anyone and sitting on the banks of a small stream. The surrounding tress pride a lot of shade in the summer months which our families in particular really appreciate so we do not want to chop them back too far. It is then only a short walk to a private beach and the rest of the site where our visitors are always welcome to explore and use a huge variety of spaces whenever they like. We also accept that the walk from the car park to the site is not advertised as well as it could be and have changed the description on the website and arrival email to make sure it is obvious. We have checked in with the host who is devastated that he did not receive a phone call to come and help. Whilst he was not on site at the time of your arrival, if he had received a call on the number displayed in reception he would have immediately help carry your equipment if required with the wheel barrows and carts provided. Despite all this we accepted that it was not suitable for your needs and offered you an immediate full refund which Im am not sure many places would. We do this as we pride ourselves on offering the best possible service to all of our customers, however they feel. We are really sorry to see that despite the refund and our apology for your experience you felt the need to post this review and we hope this response puts your mind at rest that we are doing our best to make sure this never happens again. We would gladly welcome you back whenever you like so that we can prove how much we care about your experience.

We had our wedding at Bach Wen and it could not have gone better! The location was perfect; just what we wanted with beautiful scenery and the sun shone all day. The staff were brilliant, the food was delicious and the whole weekend was a lovely experience for ourselves and our guests. Thank you!
