I stayed at Finca Del Sol for three nights (Sunday-Wednesday) with my special lady friend it was exactly what we were looking for in Ometepe. The road from Moyogalpa to Santa Cruz is now paved (apparently it did not used to be), so the cab...More
We very much enjoyed our 3 days and nights with Sheri and Christiano, the dogs, and the flock of goats and sheep. The setting is ideal for nature-lovers because each cabin is in the dry forest but the villages of Santa Cruz and El Madronal...More

The Tarantulas are small and the circumstances they come near the rooms is to get out of the rain. Having said that, the roofs overhang the room to form a 5 ft rain-sheltered area around the rooms. Any right thinking tarantula would only need to walk under this roof overhang to get out of the rain, Added to that the they would have to crawl under the door if they wanted to get in to the room (there is no food for them in there so they wouldn't be inclined to do that) and the space under the door is very very small. However, it does happen but it is rare.
