We took aging parents over for a couple of nights. Hotel was comfortable, a bit tired or old worldly, depends on point of view. Lovely situation, good atmosphere, roaring fire, warm welcome. Staff, couldn't have been more helpful, and more attentive. Only down side broadband / wifi very slow, but gather being worked on

Peter and Mary are perfect hosts and go out there way to make you feel very welcome. This lovely stone building was just 15 minutes walk away from where we were staying and we thought it would be a good idea to visit here for lunch. On arrival, We were welcomed promptly and shown into the cosy dining area which had a burning fire (It was cold and this was a welcome sight). The food we were...

We stayed here recently for a night. We were given warm welcome as soon as we arrived. The cosy atmosphere with the coal fire's was bliss on chilly afternoon. Saw a red squirrel in the garden belonging to the Hotel which was a added bonus. I would definitely eat hear again and hope to do...

Very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel is in a great location. Excellent breakfast in a very nice dining room with good views - just a shame that the same room isn't used for evening meals (smaller restaurant very dark and bar very busy), but the food was good. Room was nice and clean, but echo comments about small TV Generally in...

A little gem on the south of Arran. We looked for a hotel that would accommodate a small group with dogs and the Lagg Hotel came up trumps. Peter and Mary, and not forgetting their dog Charlie, made us so at home and welcome, nothing too much trouble. Its an old hotel - from 1790 - so expect character and...

Of course we return. This time with the whole family including our fresh new granddaughter. How could we not settle once again into the place on the beautiful Isle of Arran, which most feels to us like coming home. It ticks all the boxes for us: comfort, service, location, peace, great food, and a piano in the guest lounge that...

We always visit when we go to Arran. It's been four years though since we were last there and the burgers have shrunk! They used to be quite large and even though they are still home made they are half the size they were. Still a nice lunch though. Recommend this place for lunches :-)
