I recently attended a reunion with some old Army friends at this hotel. The hotel is comfortable, and very close to the Abbey. The catering and service were excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly

A very friendly, family run Hotel presenting professional standards and service through out our stay. Our room was clean and spacious with the biggest "double" bed I have ever slept in! Evening meal ordered in the lounge bar meant a relaxing drink before being taken to your table in the quaint Cottage Restaurant. Food was delicious, well presented and served...

Due to a change in circumstances I had to cancel a one night booking at this place. Alas despite giving them a months notice they insisted on payment in full! Potential 'Guests' beware! Sinking to their level I suppose I should have held the booking and not turned up!

Hi Chris You know "Guests Beware" is not incorrect. You made your reservation on a third party website Such are the complications and intricacies of the internet today You chose "advance Purchase" because it offered you a substantial discount You understood the terms and conditions of that online organisation they stated full prepayment is taken at the time of reservation...

We have been taking Sunday Lunch at the Royal George for years and the lunch this Easter Sunday was really excellent. There was a time when the lamb was tough but not on this occasion and the vegetables were hot. Every guest was given a chocolate bunny and the service was as excellent as it always has been in our...

The location of the hotel is excellent within a short walk of Tintern Abbey. The rooms, as noted in previous reviews are more motel like, being in a couple of small one or two storey blocks along a covered path from the main hotel. We booked in advance and included breakfast. On the first morning I ordered 'kippers' for breakfast...

We stopped overnight on a trip to Cornwall and back. The hotel is comfortable, with good food and cheerful obliging staff. The room was reached through a pretty garden. The bed was very large and comfortable

I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Everything else was full, we came here by chance but certainly did not regret it. The food was lovely, served on clean white table linen, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent!

Lovely hotel in a lovely location. The staff are friendly and professional. Food is very good and plenty of it. Rooms are clean and spacious, we had a balcony room which we requested and worth it for the great view and sound of birdsong and the stream running along the garden. Decor could do with updating but that is a...

B&B. It was a motel really. room was very comfortable, large with good facilities. Breakfast was slow and waiters were polite but not very good. Staff were friendly. Would I stay there again, probably but wouldn't eat there. We found a good pub near the Abbey that had really nice beer and food.

I have had lunch at the George on many occasions and it is normally excellent. Unfortunately today was an exception. I usually lunch at the George following a walk up to the Devils Pulpit and today chose the two course lunch. The garlic mushrooms to start were delicious however the main course was very disappointing. I chose the Ham and...
