Detailed Reviews
This is a very nice place to stay on the Irish Loop. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious and the hospitality is terrific. Charlie and Maxine are so welcoming and friendly -- we felt like we were a part of the family! The rooms overlook the beautiful scenery of the bay (when there is no fog), and the location is close to the Colony of Avalon, the lighthouse, restaurants, etc. Very nice!

Oceanside views, wonderful hosts, delicious breakfast, immaculately clean rooms - the ultimate traveller’s delight. We stayed here in the midst of our East Coast Trail hike and were absolutely charmed with Dunne’s B&B. Charlie and Maxine are fantastic proprietors. Next time we are in Ferryland, we’ll be returning to Dunne’s.

Maxine and Charlie should get an award for the friendliest people in Newfoundland! What a great couple ! We enjoyed staying here for one night on our way through Newfoundland. This was our second visit with them , we were not disappointed! Lovely rooms , clean and comfortable and an awesome breakfast to get our day started. Maxine and Charlie go our of their way to make you feel welcome and we had some amazing conversations with them. So down to earth and kind , we highly recommend staying in their B and B. It’s a gem and th location is beautiful!

We stayed two nights at Dunne's. Maxine and Charlie are amazing hosts. They are warm and welcoming. Maxine sings while walking around the B&B. They have wonderful stories to share about their lives and their family in the Ferryland vicinity. Their dining room looks out across the cove and both days at breakfast, they pointed out the humpbacks just off shore. The great room is very comfortable as was our bedroom. Breakfast was delicious. Across the road is Avalon, the site of Lord Calvert's first colony in North America. The site is an active archaeological site with a very good museum explaining the history of Avalon. Ferryland is convenient to Witless Bay and the fossils at Mistaken Point, places that should not be missed if traveling in Newfoundland.

When traveling to Newfoundland we also go to Ferryland and stay Charlie and Maxine at their B&B. They are wonderful people and make you feel at home. Maxine's breakfast is the best you will find. Ferryland and the surround area is a fantastic place to visit with all the maritime history. Newfoundland has so much to offer for those enjoy travel and exploring.

Excellent stay! Charlie and Maxine are wonderful hosts! The view is fantastic, the room was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and the entire B&B is immaculate. You will enjoy the breakfast as well. Do ask Maxine about the paintings. Their CD is a very good listen and reminds us of our vacation and our stay at Dunne's. Would definitely stay there again!

Breakfast was ready at 8 as they said it would be. Scrambled eggs, have, sausage, pancakes and toast. Juice and coffe and all the fixings. Highly recommend this beautiful B&B.

Rooms were clean and comfortable and all look over the ocean. Walking distance to the lighthouse trail. Breakfast was delicious. Charlie and Maxine were great hosts. Charlie even delivered something I had left behind after we moved on the next day. Highly recommended!

We had never stayed in a B&B before so we were a little apprehensive at first, but this place was amazing!!! The view was incredible, the room was immaculate and beautifully furnished and you couldn't ask for better hosts!! A huge breakfast was served to get you on your way and they were so helpful in regards to the country and what to see and where to go. If we ever find ourselves back in that area again, Dunne's B&B will be our first pick!!

We had the pleasure of staying at Dunne's Bed and Breakfast on our way through Ferryland on our bicycle tour across Canada. It is beautifully and modernly decorated and comfortable. Each room has a printed and framed local story to go along with the rooms name.. so if you like you can learn a little history too! The owners, Charlie and Maxine, are very warm and welcoming people. They made sure that we were comfortable, and the morning breakfast was fantastic! They were also happy to put our bicycles in the shed overnight for us... although I doubt it was necessary for security reasons as Ferryland is a safe and small Newfoundland village. A must! True Newfoundland hospitality!
