The rooms are adequate, the food is ok. Its not an international hotel, its an Italian hotel for Italians. The rooms are ok, the food passable and the friendly staff make it bearable. But as a business traveller, the PUSHKIN Uralsk, AKSAI Residence Aksia and the River Place Atyrau, all suffer by being design by someone who obviously dosent understand the business traveller.

I have a large desk in my room, but nowhere to plug my laptop, all the sockets are on the other side of the room, the same for the other "Renco" hotels. What idiot designed a hotel where there are no plug sockets at the desk.
The bed is in direct line to the heating/Ac and hence leave the occupant open to chills or dryness. Its simple, switch the rooms around, put the bed where the desk is and the desk where the bed is and you solve both issues of alignment to the Ac and plug sockets with which to work.

The basis on which these hotels work is they are mainly the only choice in town and are arrogant, it will only take a truly international operator to open a real business hotel and they will have their arse kicked.

There are smarter hotels on Almaty, but not in Urask. The staff are eager to please and attend to requests swiftly. Good showers, comfy beds, fast wifi and English TV.
Second floor room to the back of the hotel offers a clean and comfortable night's sleep. The onsite restaurant is surprisingly good.

Stayed 1 night when there was flight issues from URA airport.

Checkin was efficient, staff are friendly & the pace is clean/tidy.

Beds are quite hard but for a night this is ok.

Restaurant is nice, quick service. Food is better quality than i expected.

Wifi is free & good speed.

Staff speak English which is nice as my Russian extends to pleasantries only.

Check out seems slightly less efficient than check in but all in all a positive experience.

The room was quite dirty. Despite of Covid protocol I found that telephone, TV remote controller, light switches was definitely not cleaned. In addition to this the restaurant was an experience. We were literally pushed out from the two waiters at 21:58 because the restaurant was supposed to close at “ten o’clock”, very disappointing.

I stayed here several years ago. The hotel is in a Good location, clean rooms and reasonable rates, but if you have to eat avoid the restaurant, I had lunch and dinner and regretted both. My pork chops tasted like a sweaty rag, and when I complained the staff did not seem to care. Very disappointing

Staying on the 1st floor is like staying in the street. You can not move curtains unless you want pedestrians and drivers in the street see you in your room. The lightning in the night is so strong that even when the curtains are closed there is still some light in the night. Avoid ordering fish in the restaurant we got poisoned. I have no idea about other food because we avoided the rest.

I stayed here recently during a business trip to Uralsk. The hotel is located in the older part of town, near the university and the historical centre of the city, and so was within walking distance of many museums and other attractions, as well as several restaurants. My group arrived on the morning flight from Astana and were allowed to check in early (for a small fee) - and we could have breakfast that day. The breakfast was buffet-style with a range of hot and cold options, and was quite tasty.
My room on the ground floor was not a non-smoking room, and there was a faint smell of smoke. I was a little surprised that it had a tile floor - rather cold for Kazakhstan - but I had an in-room thermostat controlling central heating, which was nice, and the floor warmed up quite quickly. The bed was a good size and comfortable. Also, despite being next to the road, the window curtains did an excellent job of muffling the street noise, and I slept well both nights. The bathroom was up-to-date with a large shower area; the water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel provided a small bottle of drinking water each day as well.
The second floor rooms were non-smoking and had wood floors, and so were a bit nicer than the ground floor rooms.
The front desk staff spoke good English and were very helpful arranging for taxis and so on.
I will definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Uralsk.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Clean and cozy rooms, the ones to the street are somewhat noisy, though. Breakfast average for European standards. Massage service was good.

The immigration office is nearby in walking distance. Bring copies of your documents...

If it's in your budget range, I recommend staying here.

Based on the assumption that nobody will go to Uralsk for leisure, Pushkin Hotel is for sure the best (and probably the only one) comfortable hotel in the city. All the staff is english speaking and is not unusual to find the manager having dinner in the restaurant (a real italian restaurant!). Rooms are wide with king size beds and bathrooms marble finished with pleasant and modern style. Another thing that makes the difference during business trips is the communication: free wi-fi is present in all the rooms, really unique over there!
