Well, the booking confirmation email should have warned me. I was instructed that the Chateau was “an old house, everythings(sic) from windows to furnitures(sic) is more than 200 years old and we ask that our guests take this fact into consideration.” We were also advised not to turn up before 5.00pm, without regard to the season. However the location was...

This is not a review of the hotel, just their pet-friendly policy. We booked this and requested to bring our dog, they got back to us a couple of weeks later and asked what size our dog was then asked us to cancel because they only allow small dogs. They said: "We only accept small dogs (maximum weight 15kg), bigger...

Breaking our travel through France to Spain, we stayed for the first time at Chateau du Chene. It's beautiful, like a Napoleonic film set, complete with Antiques and sweeping staircase. Our hostess was a lovely young lady, getting close to her giving birth time. We felt guilty about her coming up and down stairs for us. Our room was spacious,...

Yes, this place needs money spent on it - the bathroom was tiny and the room was a little shabby. However it was a really nice stay - very clean - full of antiques and unusual bits and pieces. Breakfast was daily but very nice and adequate. We will be back as we really enjoyed this quaint and quirky Chateau.

We were absolutely exhausted after a long day travelling and chateau de chesne was a wonderful place to unwind. It was easy to find and was spacious and very full of character, from the amazing old furniture to the gardens and the friendly cat ( who happily put up with my children's cuddles for ages). The member of staff we...

When we approached the hotel along it's driveway, my heart sank but once inside you get a feel for how this wonderful building used to be. It is run by a young couple who are very friendly but the building is in need of a serious cash injection. The towels and linen really should be renewed and some of the...

This was a wonderful stop for me. Beautiful bedroom, wonderful breakfast, great location for exploring but away from the highway. I actually liked the decor as opposed to some other reviews. I really had no complaints at all. The WiFi was also very good which mattered to me as I was traveling on my own.

The place was nice. I was travelling with my dad, so we took the junior suite. Perfect as it has a separate bedroom. The main room was fine, spacious, decor a bit too much but I guess it's the part of the look, but the was a general smell of old ness. The small bedroom was nothing. A tiny room,...

After stopping at the " chateau" there was no one home. Also note that this b&b is on the main road. The owners were not expecting us even though we booked well in advance. The one room had a terrible toilet smell and the sheets were not clean. After expressing our dissatisfaction we were encouraged to cancel our reservation. It...

Iff you want something a bit different on a run up or down France then I would recommend this location. It's a lovely chateau only a couple of minutes off the motorway in spacious grounds. It's all very authentic, the owner/staff were very helpful and attentive, we had a great breakfast and it has free wi-fi. A touch more expensive...
