Came with my little dog Daisy for a few nights. Stunning location, beautiful house, cosy guest sitting room with log burner at full blast, lovely bedroom and warm, fun hosts who made us feel very welcome, despite the fact that Daisy decided to do an Oscar-winning performance as the hound of the Baskervilles, due probably to stress from the new...

This was the final part of our road trip celebrating our anniversary. My husband booked Lower Buckton as a surprise for something a little bit different and it was certainly that! Very quiet and in the middle of nowhere! When we first pulled up at the farm I wondered what exactly we has come to but inside the farmhouse has...

Beautiful house in stunning location, wonderful hosts and gorgeous food. Highly recommended for a stay with family or friends. Traditional farmhouse with lovely bedrooms, huge kitchen with aga, the most amazing dinning room to entertain and be lord of the manner in. Tastefully furnished but with a unique quirkiness that adds lots of interesting touches. Friendly and fun hosts who are...

On arrival for our two night stay Carolyn made us most welcome with afternoon tea and cake - and sat with us for a chat. Throughout Carolyn and Henry were excellent friendly hosts. It is a charming house, in a beautiful peaceful location, full of family furniture paintings and interesting objects accumulated from previous generations. Worthy of National Trust status!...

Had a wonderful 3-day stay at Lower Buckton, superbly looked after by hosts Carolyn and Henry. The room, with en-suite shower, was warm and comfortable with a sofa and DVD player, and fresh milk always provided for tea and coffee. Whenever we came back in the late afternoon, Carolyn would have the kettle on immediately, to take tea in the...

Have just spent a wonderful weekend here learning rag rug-making techniques from local guru Jenni Stuart-Anderson. And what a perfect setting for it; glorious part of the country, lovely old farmhouse packed full of quirky antique treasures, comfortable bedrooms, stunning food & hosts to match.... could hardly bear to leave!

Loved this place, we stayed at the bottom in the hut and loved every bit of it. The owners were great too, they made so much effort for us with the amazing breakfast. Loved the bath. It was our anniversary and wanted to do something unusuall, perfect!

You couldn't wish for a more friendly or idyllic country retreat. Food is superb and the hosts will make you feel at home. The best breakfasts in England from locally sourced farms and eggs freshly laid from the very friendly hens that cluck their way freely nearby. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed here last year for five days with our horse and were so taken with the house and hosts (Henry and Carolyn) that we booked straight away for this year. I would agree that it is like staying with friends and the dinner and breakfasts we had were delicious along with the tea and cakes. Lovely comfy bed and...

Hope that doesn't put anyone off, but I am sure Carolyn and Henry wouldn't mind that description. Very nice interesting house, lot's nearby, great food and lovely hosts. It is more akin to visiting friends than staying in B&B.
