After a hike up to the hut, we only stopped for lunch as our reward. The menu is simple and the setting basic, but the owner was friendly and hospitable. He didn't speak English, but that just added to his charm. Free brandy for everyone with outside seating overlooking the scenery below. The beers were cold and the old man's...

We stayed 2 nights at this mountain hut and had a wonderful experience! Despite the comments we had seen on TA we wanted to have our own experience and we didn't regret it for a minute. As soon as we arrived at the hut we were warmly welcomed by Marin. He showed us around and everything was clean and we...

Avoid this place if you don't want it to ruin the entire experience. My three girlfriends and I were stuck there with an old creep and couldn't get rid of him. He followed us everywhere except the bathroom, we couldn't relax at all. I believe he was just "making sure we don't ruin anything" because he kept repeating that he...

my wife and I got back to Croatia, as we do often since it is a beautiful country. last time we missed Paklenica National Park, so this time it was our first stop. The park itself is a beautiful place, cannot be described with words, but Ivančev dom was the biggest mistake of our trip. Be careful staying there, because...

We decided to spend a long weekend with a well deserved break on Velebit and arranged everything in advance with the owner's son Franjo, who also informed us he would be there to greet us when we arrived. However, upon arrival we were unpleasantly surprised and the experience cast an ugly shadow on the whole trip. We were met by...

We were a group of 13 friends climbing to Vaganski vrh next day and arranged sleeping here. When we came the first day, the older man that runs this property told us that he can only give us 12 beds, nevermind we booked sleeping for 13 people. He had an extra room that he didn't want to open for us...

The two hour hike was gentle and picturesque and a foretaste of arriving at Franjo's mountain hut. We stayed for two nights and I would have been happy to extend. Franjo is a wonderful host, the house is spotlessly clean and the rooms well appointed. Each day we received a lovely breakfast and the dinners were large, tasty and well...

The hut is an easy 2.5 hr walk through the beautiful national park of Paklenica. You will be met there by Franjo, who is one of the owners and a marvelous cook. There are numerous hikes from the hut, both easy and challenging. Spending 2 nights up there in the middle of this park was really fantastic and I would...

This is a hidden gem in Paklenica National Park. You need to be in decent shape to make the 2 1/2 hour climb up to the hotel from the main entrance of the park. You will also need some good shoes, and a lot of water in the warm seasons. If these things are in place there should'nt be anything...
