Fully enjoyed our 7 day stay at the Rarotongan Resort, with family and friends and grandchildren . All those we stayed with enjoyed it too. A very family friendly resort, the kids were well catered for, pool was great. Meals were nice, averaged about $21-25 NZ dollars each. Beers about $8.00, Cocktails $12 while on Happy Hour. $17 other times. Water activities were great free paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear all good. Air Conditioned rooms a little dated but clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We did find it rained several times on the south of the island where the resort was when it was dry and fine on the northern part of the island, Not really a problem as the rain was warm. We will go back again. It was great to have my motorcycle license as it is a great cheap way to get around the island, saves time getting your licence over there. Most people and locals seem to travel by scooter. March 2023…

My husband and I stayed 5 night from 10th March at this beautiful resort. We travelled to Rarotonga from New Zealand for a friend's 50th birthday celebration. We were in a group of 18 people, 10 adults and 8 children/teenagers. This resort has so much to offer, gorgeous comfortable island themed bedrooms, a fantastic bar and restaurant, stunning pool, kids club, amazing breakfasts with a huge variety included in our package. The snorkelling and swimming a stone throw from our rooms was to die for, stunning clear aqua coloured water and white sand, gorgeous views of sunsets from the main deck by the restaurant and bar. There is lush foliage and beautiful island flowers adorning the paths to our rooms and other amenities. The whole complex is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and accomodating. I spent 5 nights here with my two sons. The resort is right on the beach. It is clean and tidy with a fantastic balcony / deck dinning area. The happy hour went from 5pm - 6pm with cocktails at $12.00 each. The restaurant has a nice arrangement of food and beverages at reasonable prices. But get in early as the bar and restaurant close at 9pm. The resort is very family orientated and has everything from Kayaks to masks and snorkel. Nice pool , kids play area and gymnasium. The only complaint I have is that when we checked in and went to our room, it was not the room that I booked through my travel agent. At reception I explained the situation and that the room was not the one I booked. The receptionist was argumentative and blamed my travel agent for booking the wrong room. As I had been traveling all day and It was approximately 9pm , I was not in the mood to be mucked around. I phoned my travel agent , whom then spoke to the receptionist and said that was not the correct room and that it needs to be rectified. It seemed the receptionist did not have any authority to change our room and there were lots of phone calls and talking going on between other reception staff. Finally someone made a decision and we were given a new card for our new room. But by now this was at 10.30pm at night. After a long flight, we were tired and hungry, but by this time the restaurant and bar were closed. My travel agent followed through with an email to the resort advising them of their room obligations to the guests. I would suggest that when a room is booked make sure the room number is highlighted on the itinerary. This whole room debacle did leave a sour taste in my mouth. That is why I cannot give it an excellent review rating. …

what a beautiful stay we had, the food is amazing and the bar men (Navi and Jerry) were so friendly! they always remembered my name when i would walk by and i thought that was really lovely and personal !! the buffet breakfast is so yummy pancakes, fresh tropical fruit, mini cutie croissants and then you also have the option of getting a cooked breakfast <3 our room was comfortable and had everything you really need. reception was so helpful, the gardens are kept lovely and the staff were all friendly and we loved staying here. we will deffo be back! great cocktails great food and atmosphere. there were plenty of activities for kids to do everyday (dont have kids but if i did this is where we would come) the pools are lovely and kept clean. the view of the ocean and lagoon is just breath taking. the mini shop was a great place for gifts and the prices were good to. Loved every minute. Rooms were nice, location was insane, big fan of the Sanctuary swim up bar, loved the live entertainment by Harry Tumupu and his lovely wife. From the lovely ladies at front desk, to the friendliest housekeepers ever, to all the fantastic, vibey and hardworking bartenders❤️ Best atmosphere and truly made my holiday one to remember. It was our first trip travelling to Rarotonga and we enjoyed every bit of it, this had been possible because of the lovely staffs over there. From arranging and meeting us at the airport from having clean amd tidy rooms, everything and every bit was wonderful. We traveled as a family (including 2 boys 9 and 2 year old) and the staff (am and pm) of the restaurant made it so comfortable for the little one who is always full of energy, from having them feed the fill with leftovers and breads or playing around with him, he enjoyed himself. Special shout out to all the resturant staffs, they were all amazing including the chefs.( we really loved the fact that we were able to talk to them directly and they recommended). Words can’t describe the experience we had having our Wedding at the Rarotongan. We had all of our closest Family & Friends attend this once on a lifetime holiday/wedding. Everyone who was with us couldn’t have been happier. From the staff, to the endless sun and fun, this was truly the best day/week of our lives. Massive thank you to Mark (hotel manager), who made sure we were having fun everyday. Akuila, who made sure our glasses were never empty and our smiles were always on. Jerry, from restaurant, night security, to best mate around the resort, Jerry will always make sure you feel right at home! and the biggest Thank You to Denzal (our wedding planner), who gave us the best wedding imaginable, running around after every request and kept us calm the whole time! He is amazing, beautiful and gets S$&t done! If you are wondering where would be a great place to stay, get yourself to the Rarotongan/Sanctuary resort! You will not regret this decision…

We had the best experience at The Rarotongan Resort. The staff were excellent. The room was cleaned daily and immaculate. The whole place was very clean and tidy. We were very impressed after reading mixed reviews but I can assure you all of our expectations were reached. The only one downside was that we found the dinners were not great but it didnt bother us as we just chose to eat elsewhere most nights. The breakfasts were amazing though. Lots of options to choose from. We would definitely come back here again though

This was our first ever time travelling to Rarotonga and our experience was amazing. A large contribution to this was due to our stay at the resort. From the moment we landed staff were ready to welcome us and organise transport to arrive safely at the resort. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. This was a great find and lovely hotel with friendly staff and great food and cocktails. Although we did not stay at the hotel as we had accommodation at a local Airbnb. We were able to attend the hotel as a day stay provided we purchased food and drinks while we were there. You are able to use the pool and beach as well as order food and drinks. We loved it here so much we came back a number times during our stay in Rarotonga. Next time we head back to Rarotonga we will stay at the hotel as a guest.
