Although two days rain from Tropical Storm Raphael. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff as usual are to be praised, especially Brian and Dalton (bar staff) Carlos (chef), Margaretta (Dining Manager/supervisor), Yvette and Aretha (Reception), Jacqueline (towels) and finally Collette (Entertainment/water aerobics). Not least to mention Fenton (Entertainment Supervisor). They all made our stay wonderful. It is like home...

Don't know where the American from Ft. Lauderdale stayed, but it wasn't the Halcyon Cove I stayed at. Very Friendly staff, not a gourmet's paradise, but certainly didn't make anyone sick. I certainly wouldn't call the island a high-crime area. There may be some, but I didn't see any. Never got accosted by any "extremely aggressive" beach vendors. The few...

When I read the terrible reviews on Tripadvisor I usually take them with a grain of salt. Some people are just negative about everything. My fiance and I are not such people. We are generally glass half full types. We really expected to have a great time at the Halcycon Cove resort. We read the reviews that said the place...

This resort was one of 8 we recently (23rd-25th Sept 2012) stayed in during a 5 week holiday around the Caribbean. Allegedly "upgraded", we given a room only metres from the beach with truly great views. The room itself, however, was another story. Small, un-renovated and struggling to stay cool (there are no solid walls on the back...only a honeycomb...

My two sisters and I enjoyed the week of September 27-October 4 at the Halcyon Cove. The all-inclusive week cost me $1,100 (including $380 in airfare) which is an amazing deal. The flight to Antigua was not too long. Airport is very small. Easy to find the well-organized taxi stand and only a 15 minute ride to Halcyon Cove. From...

We recently stayed here for two weeks (2 – 16 Sept) and are already talking about going back. Having previously stayed at a Rex Hotel we knew what to expect – this is a 3 star hotel (with 5 star staff) with no big frills, and the Rex way of doing things suits us down to the ground. Our room...

We have been at this hotel many times and each time things have improved. This time, for example, a whole block of rooms have been removed to allow almost a direct view to the sea from the the pool rooms.... a great improvement. The hotel was quiet with no kids, yippeeeeeee. Seriously, the hotel was quiet but enough people about...

The location was ideal, only 15 minutes from the Airport, and close to St John's, the capitol. The beach was also well presented, white sand and plenty of beach umbrella space - but that was only because the resort was about 25% full in the first week in September. I can imagine that, when full, there would be lots of...
