The place is no longer grand or royal but is much cheaper than other hotels in Antigua. It was probably a great spot in the 80s but now it needs upgrades. Floor 1 to 3 is under renovation. I didn't see much work being done which means that it wasn't noisy. We stayed there for two nights with our five... More

First, I have to say I would never stay at this hotel. It looks empty and need major repairs. We were looking for a daypass for one day all inclusive. Galley bay beach ask 140$usd for a day, this place 60$. we had access to the facilities, it was clean. the food was below average: only choice from burger or... More

So we get there...not a person in sight...no other visitors, staff or anything and the hotel looks like it was at one time very nice but had been abandon for about 50 years. Throughout our stay we never saw any other guest only saw maybe two staff members it was very creepy. The pool was gross wouldn't let the kids... More

We stayed here for one night after our flight had been delayed & we missed our connection. This is a building that may once have been good but now is just a relic waiting for TLC [$$$'s] or demolition. There seemed to be no more than about 10 customers in this vast hotel of around 200 rooms. We could not... More

Upon check in, the guy did not seem interested at all, which is ok but when we asked him if he could recommend a place to eat, we were ignored. No problem, we can always ask someone else and explore. Then we had one bad experience at the lobby bar that really put a bad taste in our mouths. My... More

Checked in for one night. Easy check in. Room, service, staff were great. The front desk staff was always attentive and courteous. Special shout out to Sean Harrigan Reservations Department, she was amazing. Would def stay here again. The hotel has been neglected and need some upgrades. But on the upside its a gem of a place.

The Marie Celeste of Antigua The best hotel on the island with beach, pool, lagoon, conference facilities and good dining room has not had ant maintenance since 2004. It has now reached the stage of either closing or having a multi million dollar facelift. We have been told that this is due to start in April. Having said that, good... More

If you've ever wondered what it's like to have an almost private mansion, beach and pool, here is your chance. Lots of reviews complain about the decor and state of the building. Frankly this is what Hawaii will look like in 5-10 years. Floors 1-3 are under renovation. Not that I saw any work getting done. There is an article... More

I normally take great pride in writing my reviews and give honest and fair feedback. We had the misfortune being put up in this 'hotel' when our flight home was delayed. To call this a hotel is a push - it is a death trap and feel like it is stuck in the 60s. The facilities are rusting and old,... More
