Stayed in January for 2 nights. Arrived at 9pm and they held the restaurant so that we could eat...... Great service. Stayed in a Ocean Front room. Basic but clean and serviceable. Room service both days. Food was really good for a 3* hotel. better than most 4* hotels on the island. Staff were great and everything was served with a smile. Price point is a big factor for people. This place is worth every penny. Give it a try
This resort is beautiful and extremely quiet. The service was good and Sean the bell boy was excellent and extremely helpful . Don’t forget to say hi to him . This resort is geared for the EURO dollar not Canadin friendly food is over priced and similar to eating at a old folks home . If you are not 65plus this is not for you . Clean and comfortable place for sure just no hot water 3 days in a row . Not sure we like roughing it at 400-500us per night Love the people here in Antigua can’t wait to come back
Great service from a very friendly team. The beachside bar area is excellent, relax with a cocktail or a cool bottle of beer listening to the waves. Nice pool, poolside, no fighting for a sunbed. Room was not posh or bang up-to-date but clean, functional and great sea view. Food is served to your table rather than a buffet which we preferred. Food very good. Entertainment twice a week. You can get out and about easily enough but not many places within walking distance. We would definitely return if we have another holiday in Antigua. Thanks for a great holiday Ocean Point!
As previous reviews have said, the resort is a bit isolated - nothing within walking distance. But that didn't bother us too much; we did a boat trip direct from the beach one day which we booked at hotel reception, and booked a hiking trip via Trip Advisor. It is a quick and easy $20 taxi journey to and from the airport. The hotel is a little tired and in need of a bit of a revamp, in my view, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. It took us a day or two to find the coffee machine along the corridor - which is good for an early morning coffee in the room. There were plenty of sunbeds - we never had a problem finding one either in the sun or the shade either on the beach or by the pool. The covered area with big comfy sofas and chairs was great when you wanted a bit of a rest from the sunshine! We had no complaints about the food, which was always freshly cooked, but the menu did get a bit 'samey' after a week - main meals always served with plain rice and vegetables, although you could ask for fries instead. The menu was also a bit confusing - not sure why the lobster option was put on the all-inclusive menu, when it was an extra charge. It would have been nice to be able to put the all-inclusive meal cost towards the cost of an a la carte menu choice. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is definitely the staff. They were all so cheerful and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Loved seeing Margot, the hotel schnauzer wandering around. Can't say the same about one of the cats, who lashed out at me when I tried to say hello!!…
We spent 10 nights there in January this year. The hotel is situated on the North side of the island on the Atlantic coast and although not luxurious, it's clean, tidy, and welcoming. Luckily we went all inclusive as there are no shops or bars within miles of the hotel. Make sure you take a mobile phone with you as checking in is all done by an App. Not so straight forward for us oldies. First of all, a big thank you to ALL the staff, they were cheerful, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were fairly basic but spacious with maid service every day. Our room had stunning views out over the swimming pool, beach and sea. The large swimming pool is crystal clear but salt water, not something they mention in the brochure. They could have done with a few more sun beds, as most were claimed by the 6am towel brigade. There are two beaches, one smaller bay to the left and a larger beach to the right. The beaches are cleaned every day and there are plenty of free sun beds and shade on the larger beach. The only disappointment for me was that the sea was always slightly murky and not crystal clear as expected. This may have been due to the time of year as we found even Ffryes beach, one of best, was still not crystal clear. The all inclusive package allowed you certain beers, local spirits and cocktails and a small choice from the al a cart menu. The cocktails were 90% ice and we found the food choice very limited and repetitive and to be honest expected more from an all inclusive holiday. You could of course purchase anything from the rest of menu including lobster and steak. (Beware the bank balance). One big criticism was the constant smell of garlic. I think the chefs must have used tons of the stuff. It wafted round the pool, bar and even the beach. A taxi to the other side of the island cost £100 return. That's a 25 mile round trip. We hired a car ($110 per day all in) for 4 days and did most of the tourist attractions ourselves. Would recommend St Johns, Stingray City and Tortoise Island. Not sure what to make of Nelsons dock yard and Sunday nights at Shirley Heights is mayhem with the bar 10 deep most of the time. Recommendations: We were a party of four all 70 plus. Our rooms were located on the third floor and there's no lift, just three flights of stairs. At night the hallway was poorly lit and it was difficult locating the key hole (even before a few cocktails). The room balconies were lovely but could have done with some outside lighting enabling us to sit out at night. Remove towels from unoccupied sun beds. Poolside bar service would have been a nice addition. A three piece group and karaoke is provided twice a week but due to the isolated location of the hotel more entertainment would have been nice.…
Our fourth stay since 2019 which says a lot. Friendly staff, 50M pool and good food. Run well by in situ Italian family. Perfect? Where is. Up to 30 min wait for a dinner table. Easily fixed so please do so. Plus we need music we can dance to. Twice a week disco please. We are mid 70s. We love Antigua and we love this hotel.
The resort needs to have a major overhaul. While everything works, the premises have been allowed to deteriorate. The staff are great and very helpful. The restaurant staff work very hard to ensure a pleasant eating experience. There are too many exceptions in the “all inclusive” and it very annoying but management doesn’t appear to care. They appear to be trying to squeeze every cent out of the clients while not doing any improvements. For example, coconut rum is an extra charge, management obviously doesn’t realize that coconut rum can be purchased at the same price as regular rum. Nice beaches but small with little to no beach chair early morning towel reservation madness. Did however see some towels reserving chairs around the pool in the early morning. Nice large salt water pool. Looking for a quiet, adult only out of the way resort with good service and food, this is the place.…
As most of the other reviews this is perfect for a relaxing get away with amazing staff !!! The rooms are very tired but comfortable beds. Beaches are lovely and secluded. Food is lovely and served at your table always with a smile My only criticism would be for more entertainment as you are a captive audience and the evenings are very quiet. Big shout out particularly to Bryan who served behind the bar and on the beach. He was always smiling and happy ❤️ kept us supplied in daiquiris for 10days, thank you Bryan we will miss your smile 😀
First time visit to Antigua, chose this through Virgin as it was smaller than some other hotels, Italian owned so thought the food and wine would be good, and absolutely was. All the food was Al a carte, lovely choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, menu is varied and changed every day, this place really puts the brakes on, visible owners who oversee all the food coming out, taking lots of care and attention. Daily wave and hello’s from the chefs each day. The staff are all superb, so welcoming, charming and funny, Brian made us laugh every day and the restaurant manager and crew so professional but relaxed. Front of house staff all lovely and super helpful Must try their lobster Thermidor is an extra charge on the all inc but we’ll worth it. Lovely big pool with plenty of sunbeds and two beautiful beaches, the bar choices and cocktails were great, only slight biggie make all the drinks part of the all inc. cute gift shop on site, free water station, take a re usable water bottle with you. There’s a couple of turtles that visit the bay every morning as you eat breakfast, great trips available too especially Stingray city quite magical. So big thank you Ocean Point we loved our stay, our little gift at the end was a nice touch too, thankyou xx…
We were looking for a couples break to relax in tropical sun and found a version of paradise here. Being adult only was a great start. We had a top floor ocean view room that had views to die for and all inclusive package. Everything was done to a high standard with food prepared to order, so no tepid buffet with tired mica covered eggs etc. the all inclusive lived up to the great standards and included a good selection of cocktails and service to the beach and the option of lunch on The beach with it’s own menu. As the beach slopes I would recommend approaching the sun shades from uphill to avoid impinge one’s head. Our 10 night stay included Christmas with a Xmas eve banquet. Having enjoyed our stay so much we extended for smother week to have New Year on the beach. Another banquet night that included Lobster Thermidor and closed with a wonderful fireworks display and bonfire which included a 2022 sign, a good way to end a turbulent year. There is a massive pool for those with a dislike of sand between their toes. The reception area has a water station to recharge your bottle as well as a coffee machine that grinds the beans and otters all of the milky variants snd hot chocolate with a similar coffee station on the second floor. Overall EXCELLENT WITH friendly efficient service. We flew out on Virgin it had to use BA for the return due to extending and have to say that the Virgin flight trumped BA in all counts - their Boing 777 was cramped and the food service could have saved time by consigning it straight to the bin!…
